HELP...paint question

Ok, I just got my first ding, nick, whatever you call it. Except it wasn't a CLEAN nick or chip. Looks like the rock or whatever it was, just pushed up on the paint and dented it a bit. Any ideas or suggestions on how to fix it? I've only had the car for less than a week!!! As you may have guessed, I'm not very pleased...plus, the wife was driving it when it happened...that's the last time she's gonna drive it!

Get used to it...

Nissan (and from what others have said, most new Japanese auto's) paint sucks! After your first 15 or so paint chips, you will will come to live with it as a fact of life...

some have had success getting dealers to repaint the hood, etc. others have either let it go or had the hood repainted with more durable paints...

do a search, you will be amazed at the number of threads on this...

Right.... Anyway, a body shop could repair it I guess, but it's probably not really worth the cost. Your choices as far as protection are a leather bra (their are varying opinions of them around here, personally, I went with one after deciding my front bumper looked like ****) or the 3M clear bra (do a search). Either will help to prevent future chips, although I believe the clear bra is probably superior because it can stay on, gets washed when the car is washed, and no water gets under it, so it won't cloud the paint, not will the sun fade the car unevenly. Good luck and watch out for those darn SUVs and trucks that throw crap at our cars!!!!

Ya, actually, I ordered the leather bra the day after I bought the car...I think I was just really upset that I got a ding so soon! Before the bra got here. But the 3M bra is intriguing. Is it expensive and how hard is it to put on?
