Tire & Rim Association (TRA) Home Page
I don't know what good this will do anyone, but just in case you're interested:
http://www.us-tra.org/main.html
Again, the Tire and Rim Association, Inc. (TRA) is the standardizing body for the tire, rim, valve and allied parts industry for the United States. The TRA, founded in 1903, establishes and promulgates interchangeability standards for tires, rims, valves and allied parts.
Association standards are now established for tires, rims, tubes, valves and flaps for passenger cars, motorcycles, bicycles, trucks, busses, mobile homes, trailers, aircraft, earthmoving, road building, mining, logging, agricultural, industrial and other vehicles. These standards are published in the Tire and Rim Association Year Book and Aircraft Year Book, through which media the manufacturers, distributors and users of wheeled vehicles and equipment and their components are kept informed.
The TRA Year Book contains all TRA Standards and related information approved by the Association for tires, rims and allied parts for ground vehicles. These Standards include tire designations; tire load ratings and dimensions; approved rim contour(s) and valve(s) for each tire size; rim contour dimensions; valve dimensions; and other data and notes necessary for tire/rim/valve interchangeability.
Tire and rim manufacturers rarely if ever violate the Standards established and promulgated by the TRA. Users of wheeled vehicles who violate TRA Standards do so at their own risk.
Have fun!
