knocking and pinging from coil packs

knocking and pinging from coil packs
I just got the defective coilpacks replaced under warranty. Man, what a huge difference. I thought that I did not know what hard acceleration was like anymore.
Thanks for the help and input to my earlier posts.
If anyone is having the problem, the dealer can order the new coil packs under TSB NTB01-059. The bad coilpacks were primarily on the early 2k models like mine. The bad news is that it takes 4-6 weeks for the dealer to get the coils, once diagnosed.

Re: Re: knocking and pinging from coil packs
I did a search on the TSB but wanted to know from you what you were feeling that made you decide to take the car in? Was it obvious? or?? Any info is appreciated. [/B][/QUOTE]
Sure, no problem. When the car was at low rpm with a/c running, I would hit the gas pedal hard (getting on the expressway, merging into traffic) and get a sluggish response with valve clatter. It was especially bad going up steep hills with the pinging and valve clatter. I tried using Redline system cleaner, strictly BP Amoco Ultimate 93, and still had the same symptoms.
After reading responses from 6+ months ago, I started dictating orders and TSBs to Regal Nissan in Roswell, GA. They would not order the coilpacks until after I took the car into to them in late February. After looking at the car, they ordered the coilpacks and replaced them, I assume under the 3/36,000 bumper to bumper warranty.
