Mine is a GLE so it has Bose and leather combo plus the deck spoiler. No sunroof or nav. Anyone else care to comment on how much they paid?

It was actually $19200 with the trade. They gave me $5800 for the old max.(95 with 81K...brake job was going to cost $500 + the engine light was on so i'm not sure how much that would be to fix). So finally broke down and bought one.

2k2 SE - $26200

I got a 6spd SE with leather, bose, sunroof, and mats for $26,200 with 3.9% finance for 5years.

Based on that I think you got a pretty good deal as well.

I am up to ~1200 miles and love this car!

Enjoy yours

Well, its the morning after and I don't know how many others have gone through this but my wife and I are going through buyers remorse. Deal could have been better. Just realized that the better part of the $1000 rebate will go to the dealer(they gave me a $341 spoiler plus install)

How many of you actually paid invoice? Should not the $1k come in after you pay invoice so if the invoice is $25k then you would actually pay $24K. Meaning you would actually get the car $1k below invoice. I also had the trade mixed up on this so they probably would have gotten me on the trade-in value if they did not get me on the rebate.

All in all, its a nice car but this whole deal did not seem to have turned out the way I had in mind. I am seriously considering asking the dealer for a refund. I know you ask why the heck did I buy the thing if I was going to ask for a refund... truth is I(wife was neutral) really wanted the car then... I can't explain, it maybe just that we were caught up on this whole thing and now we're thinking if this may not have been the right thing to do given our finances. Maybe this will pass over time but right now I've got that what the heck were you doing feeling... Has anyone ever tried to return a car at the dealer? What are my chances that they will accept a return?

i don't know this for a fact, so don't hold me to it but, as far as i know, here in ny, a buyer has 30 days to return the car for a full refund...it wont come easy though . dealers don't want to give $$$$ back to the customer(think of your rebate!) you may want to discuss it with an attny to get his take on the "legals" of returning the car. usually they will give you legal guidance if it is a simple question...you may need him to pull some weight at the dealership too, which may cost a little, but what is a couple hundred compared to 28k??? good luck.

ps...enjoy the max while you have it. once it is gone, you'll miss it forever.

OK I went to the dealer today and they would not give me a refund. Ended up getting the Altima. The weird this is I originally was going to get the Altima but got hooked on the 255HP of the max. So I settled on a 2.5S. I must say it looks sharp with the skirt, fogs, and rear spoiler. Only thing missing is the leather and I'll miss the v6. But hey, at least it will be better gas mileage and burn regular gas. Oh, of course I did not have too much maneuvering room as they had me by the *****. It ended up $400 over invoice and $5000 for the 95 max. Bottom line, $3000 less than the GLE.

Sorry to hear that man. Its a shame how you had to downgrade to an Altima. At least its still in the Nissan family. Hopefully you won't be regretting this trade. I definitely would.

You should've thought about this more carefully before trading in your Max for the Altima. Now you have a car with 80 less Horsepower, 2 less cylinders, and a 2.5 liter engine instead of a 3.5 liter engine!!! Plus no leather seats and what not. And for what, $3,000.00 less? This was a bad decision.

And don't forget those cool HIDs.

Agreed max has all those things. Is it worth more than $3k? most on this board will probably say yes but that is a matter of preference. In hindsight, the real mistake is I should have gone for the Altima like I planned. That would probably have saved me more money. In any case, I'm kinda glad I have the Altima now and will put this one behind me as a learning experience and enjoy the new ride. Thanks to all for your input. Farewell everyone and goodbye as I will be moving on to the altimas.net boards.

I paid $800 under invoice, but I got the 0.9% financing instead of the $500 rebate.. I think it worked out to be a fairly good deal
