I know, but my next substantial clump of money will be for a big brake kit...then if I have some left over I'll look into some coilovers.

I know , I was just trying to keep this thread refreshed so it doesn't get bumped out of the first page I would like for him to drop the car about 2.25 in the front, and 1.75 in the rear and then give us a ride description. If he does this then I will order 4 sets of these coilovers( i have a shop). But keep on bumping this thread until we get some straight answers. Peace

true...BUT..theres nothing like being able to dial in your ride...with almost 15,000 miles in 9 months im gonna be adjusting quite a bit..from San Fran to Los Angeles road trips...to crusing...to the autox track...for 5th gens....as of now..youd hafta get $380 for ground controls ...about 550 ish for the modified KYB's through cattmann...about 100 in mounts i think...then you gotta modify the car..youd spend about 1100 on the whole setup...with installation...if that jic kit comes in at about 1500..it should be a sweet deal. Otherwise i agree..some maxspeed springs and kybs should do great!

kyb's and progress springs, 600 bucks, don't need the mounts, modded stock one EASILY, don't need the boots, all 5th gne ones should still be good. so i'm lowered and handle SICK for 600 bucks. 1100 is no where near what it should cost for kyb's and any spring.

i couldn';t spend that much on a street suspension, i'm MMOOORREEE then happy with my kyb's and progress springs, not to soft, not bone jarring and do they handle sick.

In THEORY your getting MORE adjustability than the AGX's. Plus, the camber plates alone are worth $200-$300 and are a necessity if you have a 2+" drop. I'm not all that concerned with an EXTREME drop, but 2" is nothing on the Max especially with larger rims. The most important factors IMO are an EVEN drop and ride. So far, NO spring/strut combination other than GCs has a matched front/rear drop. The closest I've seen is H&Rs with modified 4th gen AGXs, but it's not close enough.

The JICs are a COMPLETE unit with NO modifications and were DESIGNED to work together. This can make a HUGE difference IMO on how they hold up and perform. I'm not trying to knock Cattman, but the modified FRONT KYB struts scared me away. He comprimised all the R&D of KYBs structual integrity. If the modified strut supports failed, it would be catosrophic(sp?) and cause loss of control. I'm surprised he would take the liability, but he apparently trusts the shop that modifies them.

These are just a few reasons why I'd spend an extra $900 over the AGX/Koni with H&R/Eibach/Sprint/Maxspeed/etc. springs or an extra $500 over AGX/Koni with Ground Controls.

Now I just got to find some $$$$!

JIC's are the way to go if you want performance and drop. These are "true" coilovers.

I agree with Alex's second paragraph.

true, nothing does sit totally right but what cattman does to modify them i would say does not compromise their integrity esp now that he has the 4th gen ones adn they are almost the same. it's a lot of money to part with ofr coilovers, how much are hogan's(chimp dj's) supposed to be?

Hogan sells coilovers? I didn't know he was selling coilovers.

If you mean comoboy, you should email him. His ORG price is VERY reasonable for all the goodies these things have and that it's a quality product made by a VERY reputable manufacturer.

If anyone is interested, you can get D2(height adjustable, bracket adjustable) for A32 and A33 for like $530 US price...

A.Z coil-over system for around $520 US (both height and 6 way adjustable on the shocks)

Type XS R coi-over system for around $1000 US...spec similar to A.Z

Kei Office is coming out one for A33 for around $1800 US, then you are talking about top of line Japanese suspension system.

JIC--can only get it in the states..at least for now.

However, this requires you to call Taiwan distributors and shipping should be around $100-150 US Aired.

They also have koni+spring combo for $1000 US

Custom work from Tein and Tanabe are also available with one month of wait.

Anyway, just some info to share----

JIC coilovers are not for everybody. There aren't that many people out there than can drop that much money for the best products out there. If you want to go the cheapest route, you should not have bought a Maxima, you could build a 13 sec Honda with $4000 in mods.

For suspension, if you want the cheapest, go buy Maxspeed springs and KYB's and bust out the dremel. You want a cheap exhaust, forget Greddy. You can go out an buy a $80 Magnaflow and have a muffler shop bend you your B-pipe. $250 later, POOF, you have a catback exhaust. But that's just not as nice as buying a Greddy now is it? There's nothing wrong with saving money, I am a hardcore DIY'er but sometimes I think that my car deserves the best out there.

Just my .02, I'm not trying to start a flame war here.

So to those who feel that JIC's are worth it, email me for pricing. Those who don't feel free to post, let's just all get along.

There are A32 versions available.

Contact AvalonRacing to make sure, but you can get them cheaper elsewhere.
