I have been checking around and the only way I seemt to find is getting one off Ebay.

Well I bidded on one, and won the bid but there is something funny going on with the seller. Since I sent him a personal check, its not been cashed but he has mysteriously never got it, so I have never been shipped the product (which by the way he said he sold to someone else anyway ). So I put a stop payment on it anyway since the guy will not longer return my emails.

Can I get one somewhere else other than ebay? Does anybody here carry them? Please let me know.

as an OBX strut tower brace for a Maxima, or is the E-Bay an 'OBX'-type??

 

I am not 100% sure I understand...but I think you bring up a good point. Is it specifically manufactured for the Max or is it another that "simply fits". Answer is I don't know for sure.

what I was going to say is that the second word of the description on E-bay says alot!! I also called one of the warehouses for OBX, check out their website obxracingsports.com and was told they have no listing for a Max (I specifically asked about a 2001, and he said not for that year or 2000)...

I got the same one, except it is polished.
I dealt with that same guy "redmts".
I payed via PayPal, and the next day I received an email with the shipping info along with a FedEx tracking #.

The bar fits fine i guess. I don't know why, but it sort of "tilts" towards the back (the top is not flat with the car). I forced it straight while I tightened everything and it is fine now (have had it for almost 3 weeks).

I was working with Cattman on a new FSTB, but it's been 5-months and NO FSTB.

So, I'm just going to buy a cheapy and the OBX does look nice. I'm just worried about if it pinches the windshield washer lines and that it is CLEARLY touching the plastic "thingy" on the drivers side. I specifically helped Cattman to avoid that, so I know it's an issue you have to design around. Anyways, for $55-65, why not.

 

Have you checked to see if it rubs the manifold or the insulation on the top of the hood?

Yeah I checked everything, and it seems fine. It does rub on the insulation a bit, but not enough to put any pressure on the hood. The plates fit just fine on both the driver and passenger towers, I did not have to move anything.

fits good...just need to tight the nuts and bolts that connect the plates to the bar.

 

 

For me personally I've always used Paypal on Ebay auctions. That way you definietly know he got it.

 

I just got one from Ebay but it turns out they don't take paypal.

 

I purchased a blue OBX FSTB from the same guy on Monday using the Buy it Now option on ebay. About an hour later I got an autogenerated email from him with a link a form to fill out. Once you fill out the form it gave a total charge. I immediately payed the amount using paypal. Whole thing was complete Monday a little after noon EST. I haven't heard anything from him yet. I emailed him last night for an order update. No reply yet today. I am itching to get it ASAP for my first mod aside from my tint. How much longer should I wait before becoming worried?

 

i don't know, some of those guys take forever. I've read comments where people never got a response. I'd say a day or two. (I know how you feel, every hour feels like it is forever just waiting for the Strut Bar)

 

I did the same thing...it takes few day and he will e-mail ur a tracking number. He shipped thru fedex.
