To those of you with TINT?????

Do you guys notice that your windows got slower over time? My drivers side is considerably slower and has that squeal too. I know about the lube, but I am wondering what everyones experience is. I wonder because I smoke in the max the up/down wears out the window motor or something?

try some silicone spray from Napa auto parts.....I used it initially to get rid of that damn screeching noise....but it also speeding up the up n down motion of the window

hope it helps!!

Granted, it's not as fast as it used to be but i haven't had a problem yet. (It's actually just slightly slower than it was b4 the tint was applied - i've had this for 9 months now)

all right guys, I dunno if you'll have as much luck as me, but:

my windows were starting to get real slow while rolling up, especially the passenger side window. Then it had an occasional squel when the windows were wet during rain, etc. All i did was take it to the nissan dealer and mention the problem and they fixed it without a peep. All they did was replace the window runners (whatever that is) and lube up some of the parts. I guess you guys could try it at your dealer if all else fails, but what are the chances of them fixing it right away? I dunno, I got lucky.

yes the silicone spray is still working....I first used in I think back in March...and have not heard a screech since....

everytime someone was in the car with me and it made that sound I was so friggin embarrassed...I mean here I am with a brand new car that has UNNEEDED sound effects...they kept asking me if it was OK to let the windows down....they didnt want me to be one of those folks who goes to the drive up window/toll plaza and has to open the door to pay!!!

once you buy the spray power down the window all the way and then spray it into the crevice that is closest to the outside mirror and try not to get the spray on the window!!

ps...I am STILL working on my cardomain page...but it is comin

I lube my windows very freqently... Probably twice an oil change or more. It keeps the bottom seam of the door wet with oil too, ya know keeps the rust away...

Re: silicone spray your windows

I've heard that the silicone spray may cause the tint to turn purple? Has anyone noticed this?

Ditto here, they replaced the window "stripping".

I have metallic titanium tint and have noticed no discoloration since I have used the spray......you ARE NOT spraying your windows ONLY the inside track of the dang window!!

Ha,
I know what my dealer will tell me. They'd say it's because of the tint, so it isn't covered under warranty! I still have to go see what they have to say about the Fuel Cut Off TSB. They'll probably charge me for that too! I still have 4,000 miles left on my warranty. I'll just go back to Ziebart and have the guy spray some more silicone.

Yea, I had to go to two dealers before they agreed to do the fix. The first nissan dealer said it was becaues of the tint. The second one, well I just explained the problem to the service guy and they fixed it without a word.

same here, mine are as slow as can be. i took it to the dealer once and they fixed it, but they said the tint will cause it to slow up again. so now i use the silicone spray and it works fine. plus, why it is that ford cars and trucks have super fast power windows and we don't? i thought we had a top of the line car.

I think it has to do with the motor size. You know with American they make everything bigger, but not necessarily more efficient.

The silicone spray really helps with the speed and the squeek. Put some on the back track to. That helped more than anything on mine.

See pic--

Yes, in fact its back right now. I keep meaning to re-spray it. It lasted about 4 months before it started squeeling again though. Might just get in the habit of doing it everytime I change the oil.
