Figured out my 2K FRONT RIGHT STRUT NOISES (I think). Now what?!
Ok, so I have this clunking noise comming from my front right strut everytime I turn right (especially over bumps). I was informed of the TBS about this issue, which says to add washers to the bolts on the power steering switch bracket and move the bottom rubber thing on the spring out so it hangs off.
Yesterday, I jacked my car up and looked at the bolts and nuts from below. They are really close to the mettle plate at the top of the spring. I unscrewed the bolts so they were loose and did not go any further down than the nuts, and I test drove it but the noise was still there. This lead me to believe that it is the nuts that are welded on that are causing the problem.
Today, I did an inspection of the nuts, bolts, and plate with a flashlight and a dentist mirror. The nuts/bolts are REALLY close to the plate. When I turned the wheel all the way to the right and felt the nuts/bolts, the closer nut is so close to the plate that a buisness card barely slips through. The back nut is right up against the plate, and when I looked with the mirror, I couldn't even see the edge of the nut, because the plate was in the way. So, it seems to me that the nut is up against the plate, such that when I turn right fast or over bumps, it hits or slips down, causing the clunking noise.
There are lots of people with this problem. It seems to me that the nissan service bulletin is bull****, because nissan has an impossible time fixing this with their own instructions. I wonder if the central problem is the nuts, not the bolts in most cases. I'm thinking remounting the bracket somewhere else and removing the welded nuts may be the answer to my problem.
What do you guys think???

If anyone else has this problem, check those nuts and bolts. Has anyone here fixed the problem by adding washers and doing the spring thing?
Apparently everyone with this problem who has replaced their stock struts/shocks has had it go away. I just noticed something on my car. The front right wheel well gap is slightly wider than the others.
In general, the suspension in most cars will settle lower on the left, due to the constant extra load of the driver. Could it be that as the stock struts/shocks/springs settle, this fundamental problem with the nut/bolt placement causes the noise? Russ had this problem, and he fixed various components with no luck, but when nissan replaced the whole unit, the noise stopped.
What do you guys think?
Also, what else might cause this noise? I'm fairly sure it's the nuts, but I don't want to only focus on one thing. Has anyone had this problem and found the noise come from somewhere else?

Nobody knows?
The noise is so bad, my car is no fun to drive. I want a suspension upgrade anyway, but I don't want to spend 800 plus install for tokicos and eibachs to have the same f*cking noise. Sorry this thread is so damn long but theres a lot to explain.
