well needless to say the 2k2 max walked my 2k max and the 2k2 jag... so all you 2k2 owners I RESPECT YOU. what id like to know is, can i fit a 4th gen turbo on my 5th gen max, being its almost the same engine (VQ30)....if so what modifications are needed to make this happen, i did a search but i didnt find the answers to my question.

i love my car to death and i do want speed. i will be gettin a y-pipe dunno if to go stillen ot cattman, also should i should use my stock muffler or go aftermarket...? Also i noticed 3rd gear is somewhat lazy... Thanks In Advance.

 

I have a 4th gen, but it seem that with automatic Maximas, when 3rd gear hits, it seem like the car just run out of steam. Right? That's what I notice on my car. I heard Maxima's topend isn't too good, so with an automatic, it's even worse.

If you want to go the cheap route, go with nitrous.

 

could headwind have something to do with it?...im pretty sure at the top of 3rd...your going about 80.. and anything faster is gonna create more resistance..

 

Some details to this "5 car race" would be nice?? If it actually happened? How do you line 5 cars up evenly with even launches?

 

there are certain spots where you can actually line up 5 cars and theres a light there too!... i got busted at one of those places

 

Street Racing is Never equal. a .5 difference in reaction time between 2 cars is a HUGE difference. Street racing just gives an idea of how fast each car is.

i saw a maxima that looked exactly like yours tonight

 

actually no at the top of third gear an auto max will hit approx 120mph at the top of seconf gear is were they hit 80mph first takes u up to 45, i still havent topped off 4th, not yet anyway. but third gear isnt lazy, ita practically dead some spots in autos really suck, like the 0-20sucks, but from 20-45 it just explodes, but from there it slows its pull til 60 comes then it pulls hard once again til 80,then comes my oh so favorite 3rd gear which i feel lasts forever, leave it to nissan to put a sloppy auto tranny which has clutch packs that are WAY too small for third, thats why most autos slip from second to third. wish i still had that manual one.

 

My car pulls to 130 no problem...

well im not sayin mine cant pull to 130, i got a y-pipe and the intake, i got no prob gettin there at all, im just comparing 3rd to first and second which pulls hard 3rd doesnt feel anything like those first two gears. which all auto maxs except supercharged ones got a problem with.

There is a way around it, if you know certain things about the A/T. 3rd gear will pull to 130 @ 6500.
A/T 3rd Gear = M/T 4th Gear.

yes i know that, i just forgot to post it, nos actually gives u a bigger kick then the s/c but if u got the juice and ur on boost.....well... u get the pic, i was refering to mostly N/A maximas who got autos.
