Same here. I fell in love with the 3rd Gen Maxima's. Actually when the 5th Gen's came out I wasn't impressed and then I drove one and a year later the looks of them had grown on me and I bought one. Horrah for the Maxima's.

when i was little, i was walking around the block to the store and there was a black 4th gen SE. they guy gunned it, pulled the e brake and made a 90 degree turn into a street.. left very nice marks on the road. never knew a maxima could do that. ironically i got one when i grew up which is now

when i was in the dealership a bunch of years ago, buying my 99 sentra, the 4th gen max was in the showroom, and the sign said "nissan's flagship sedan, blah blah blah". flagship. yah, thats what i wanted... so 3 years later, here i am. with nissan's flagship sedan.

the father from my church had a 3rd gen when it just came out; since he was assigned for our youth group; I rode in that car a lot and totally loved the ride. I knew from back then that Maxima will be my ride!!!
And now, 3 years with my 5th gen and still loving it!!!

My older brother had an '88 (white w/ leather). What a great car, fast and comfortable. I liked the 4th generation, and really dug the grill and front end on that car. I really thought they screwed up the 5th generation with the tail lights. I hated the lights with the black trim on light colored cars. We had a 2001 for work, same thing, but also hated the two tone interior (blond)- yech! But loved the way the car drove. We were seriously considering a 2k2 Altima 3.5 SE, but my wife wasn't crazy about the exterior colors. Then we saw a Majestic Blue 2k2 w/ charcoal interior. Fell in love at first sight! really liked the front end, the back was better, and absolutely love the interior (especially compared to the Altima). Plus with the charcoal, no two tone. Never I thought I would end up with this car, but sure glad I did! The Altima would have been nice too, but I don't think we would have been as happy.

August 1994: Rented a Pebble Beige GXE. Got spoiled by it and was amazed at the level of amenities for the price. Wanted to buy a '94 SE but the $$ would not permit it at the time.
September 2000: Bought a Charcoal Pearl '94 GXE. Again, got spoiled by it and had a load of fun with it.
March 2002: Traded Charcoal Pearl '94 GXE for Gray Lustre 2002 SE.
should say it all.

Owned a 2K V6 Accord Coupe. Also use to lurk on Honda-Acura.Net, guys were flaming maxima.org and they posted a link to one of your threads. Last Summer found myself coming over to lurk and fell in love with the car. June 15 2002 som dumbass got off work early, started hitting the bottle, he ran into a truck, which he propelled against my Coupe. Probably wound up losing $3-4K on the deal. Bought a 2K Max SE with 15K, never looked back since. Even with all its inherent manufacturing defects, it's the best bang for the buck in the car industry out there.
