2001 Ae 2002 Se
In probably the next month i plan on buying maxima, but i have been debating weather to buy a 2001 AE or a 2002 SE i want the 2002 butthe only thing that is holding me back is i wont be able to affrd one with leather but i dont really careabut leather too much plus i if i didnt get leather i wouldnt have to get the Bose stereo cause if i get that im just gonna change it anyway, basically i want the Ae because of the ground fx and all the badging and shift and pedals and the extra five horse but i like the 2002 cause it has 255 HP plus it has clear tails even though i coud js buy thos anyway from courtesy and it has that cool shift that i love. What do you guys think i should do????

i say get the 2002. if you have the $ later on you can always get after market leather. and opting out of the bose will save you another $1000. the body kit on the AEs looks cool but then again, you can always add on a body kit to your 2k2 when it is availavle and if $ allows.
with time, eventually you can get everything on your 2k2 that you liked on the AE but you wont have to sacrifce the 33 extra horses. leather will always be available from aftermakert sources (and is often much less expensive than factory, yet just as high quality), the 2k2 6-speeds with HLSD come with the exact same pedals as the AEs. (i have them on my car. check homepage for a picture), a body kit can be added (not exactly the same one as the AE). almost everything from the AEs can be added to the 2k2

I've driven both, my friend has a 2K1 Anniversary 5-speed, and I have a 2K2 6 speed hlsd.
It's no contest, 2K2 all the way. More power, Xenon headlights, extra highway gear, 6 disc in the dash, and so on.
The performance difference between the 2K1 Anniv and the 2K2 SE is equal to the difference between my 99 SE and the 2K1 Anniv. Get it?

If you have to , get a 2K2 GLE, you could always add wheels and other stuff later, the 255 HP is standard, no matter what Max you get !

The reason? -> I'm the owner!

He can buy my 2k2 GLE. I'm selling it for a mere $38,800... only $10,000 more than what I paid for it. Why $10K more, you ask?... cause it's a celebrity car now.
