Why choose Cattman?

This post is not intended to put down Cattman Performance, I think they are awesome for the fact that they are willing to develop things for our maximas.
I was looking through their website, and found out the price for their cat-back exhaust system would be $700.00, that price is higher than Greddy Evo & $tillen, and they have a more reputation (maybe?)
so why would you want to choose Cattman instead of Greddy or $tillen?
thx
I only post this b/c I'm looking forward to buy cat-back exhaust system for my car now, so I wanted to the differences between them, thx

Ive heard most of the different ones for the Max.. The Cattman, is not as noticeable, quiet ( TOO QUIET FOR ME ) , . The tips look close to the Stock ones. The Greddy, is a bit louder, and also good quality. I'm going with a universal muffler, and a customcatback, mandrel bent, it's a cheaper option, and you get what you want....MY .02

I also heard that catback (bpipe & muffler) won't give you any significant gains, probably 5hp?
So I guess it doesn't really matter which I get? And I probably should go with Kloogy's suggestion, just have one build for cheap??!!

That's what the point is...Its not worth that much horse anyway. The stock setup is a good one, I was just looking for more sound, and NOT RICEY sound....

maybe i'm being annoying here
but if you want just sound, why don't you just change muffler?
why spending extra money to build a b pipe?

The muffler is not enough. I'd suggest you begin by simply removing your resonator, tapwr3000. That should cost you all of about $25.00 to $35.00. See how you like that. If that's not enough, add a straight-through muffler like a Magnaflow or a DynoMax. I suspect the combination of no resonator and a straight-through muffler will give you exactly what you're looking for at a fraction of the cost of anybody's pre-fabricated catback. No, you won't be able to dazzle your friends by telling them about your b!tchen Greddy exhaust or HKS exhaust or Stillen exhaust or Cattman exhaust. You'll just have to satisfy yourself by laughing all the way to the bank instead.

Thats the point. As much fun as it is to spend the $$, why do it if you dont need to. Personally, I fined the word " CUSTOM " nicer than..any brand name...

oh yea its all good to just remove the resonator and bolt on a sick muffler but thats if u got nothin else in the exhaust modded, for instance.....the y-pipe, that thing is a big issue because it changes the whole exhast note, u have to slap on a resonator, its way too loud. buy if u dont got one the ripe the old resonator off. im gonna have mine custom built as well

When I had the headers put on my stang, I did a custom exhaust straight from the headers. No Cats...dynomax mufflers. Sounded freaking AWESOME. It was good to live in NY when you knew the people giving out the inspection stickers!

So my question is this...you can put any muffler you want, as long as it has a 2 1/2 inch inlet?? I just don't want to a) lose any horsepower just to have a cool looking tailpipe and b) have it be too damn loud when I get the y pipe installed.

What are your suggestions??????

just add a resonator, its not gonna make u lose any power and if it does its a small fraction like 0.1hp loss which u cant even tell, all the resonator does is quiet things down, i have no choice but to get one or its gonna be waaaaaaay too loud cuz of my y-pipe.

A few people here complain about people getting y-pipes because it removes the pre-cat and can cause a bit more pollution. The setup on your Stang would make them really grumpy.

Yeah, no cats on an '85 V8 Stang. Whoops. Well, I just got out of high school...what did I know? Anyhow, someone just said that there aren't any cats on the 2002 y-pipe. Now I'm totally confused...because what would be the point of replacing it? Is this true?

Also, as far as emissions go, there are plenty of VW vans out there that pollute 824,647 times as much as a '02 max without a couple of pre-cats. Just visit OR or CO.

(The # stated above is fact and should not be disputed.)
