Need help with the wind noise!!

My dream car is making me crazy. I know about the TSB on the back windows (for the wind noise). I took it in to Corona Nissan. Had to wait for three months for the parts. They tryed to fix it, in doing so they scratched my tinted window. Not only that but it was a windy day, when I got my car back it was full of dirt, they said they had to take the doors off to replace the rubber. They did fix the tint on the window, but my car now has a new wind noise, sounds like the door is not closed.I called Nissan and they had me on a three way with Corona. I am suppose to take it back and they are suppose to fix it. I no way trust them. So I have been calling other dealers trying to find out if they have or know how to fix this problem. So far no luck. I have tryed Irvine, Huntington, Tustin. Does anyone out there know where I can get this fixed? I just want to find somone that knows what they are doing. I will even pay.

Re: Need help with the wind noise!!

yeah, the wind noise sucks...where does it come from in your car? In mine (2k2 gle), it seems to come from all four window linings, and not just the back. I wish I had a solution for you, but I've searched this topic before, and nothing seems to be very promising. The maxima just has irreparable wind noise, imo. it's a shame because the maxima's engine is very quiet - they could have really made a silent highway ride, but fell a little short on the wind (and road) noise. good luck, maybe someone else will have something more promising.

do a search for "wind noise" or "door sealants", and a lot of stuff will come up. some guy used caulk instead of tape and said that it worked well. there is stuff for your situation where the wind noise is coming mostly from the rear windows...i couldn't really find anything for my type of problem - noise from all doors. cheers.

Irvine Nissan did the wind leak TSB on my car, and it made a big difference, I recommend this dealership.
If you want to fix all the wind leaks on your car there is a company that specializes in this, it's called Water Doctors, check their website at:

caulk

Yes, that was me. Ran the caulk in the area where the TSB says to place the tape. Seems to have worked well.

took me a dang minute...but I have finally finished my site which has all of the TSB's in pdf format. the bulletins that have more than 2 pages have been zipped and everything can be downloaded and saved....

scroll down to the bottom of the page

thicknes home page with current tsb's in pdf format to download

the sqeaks and rattles and the wind noise tsb's mention all the fixes for the noise problems that our cars have

I thank all the folks who originally posted all of the tsb's on the forum and other locations!! Some of the smaller jpg images are now clearer in the pdf format...hope this helps!!

Hey man, Thankz for the TSB..but I've actually got a quick question....The TSB is in regards to a 2k - 2k1 maxima's with the wind noise problem, and I own a 2k2 , will this TSB apply to my car?!?!? Can I take it to them???

Thankz in advance....

Thank you for all your input. Looks like I am not the only one that has this problem.

Nissan really needs to get their act together on this one.

I will try Irvine Nissan and give them a shot. Corona Nissan didn't have a clue. It all else fails, I will try some of the fixes mentioned myself.

Thanks again!
