Corona. I am doing repairs myself, thus no insurance. They quoted me $3486 and it ended up being $250 for me to go it myself...

Damn I'm good.

$250? B.S.... For all that crap you needed to do? You had at least $1000 in parts alone. The control arm is like $500......

Why call bull****... Why the hell would I lie about the cost of a control arm? Jesus.

The Control Arm is nowhere near $500, and the prices and damages I listed before were from Nissan's quote and they apparently "guessed" of what might be wrong without examining it closely. They even told me the Axle disconnected, but upon testing it it was perfectly fine.

The only thing damaged was the Lower Control Arm, which I bought from DaveB. He overnighted it and it should be here tommorow. $225 total.

The rim is not structrally damaged. The $250 comment was how much repairs the car needed to run. Still need scratch on bumper fixed and rim repaired. ($400 or so right there)

Hey melteye plan to spend some $$! I got keyed on two doors and had it estimated at 650 to fix. The key marks are maybe 12" long on front door and 6" on the rear door. Let me tell you its not cheap those damn painters have you between a rock and a hard spot yo! Cuz you can't paint it yourself so you are forced to go through them.

I know a few people who do professional body painting... of airplanes. If I can't get a good price then I'll go through him.

One of my friends had a scratch similar to the one on my bumper and it costed him $400.

Ahhhhh.... I was going off that laundry list of stuff from a few days ago that Nissan gave you. Control arms are that cheap? That means that I got hosed last year when I dropped $500 for one after I ran over a ladder on the freeway in my 98 Altima. I figured the Max would be more expensive. Looks like I'm just a sucker...... But I guess that included alignment, remounting tires, etc.

Looks like you are cool afterall.......

Ya. DaveB kicks ***. Nicest guy I've talked to in a while.

I am pretty good at finding good prices though. Found a Lower Control Arm for $125 but it was a 4 week wait.

For $225 I got not only the Lower Control Arm, but also the Tie Rod.

Me happy... That is until I do to the bodyshop to be raped.

And raped you will be! By those paint sniffin freaks who always manage to get overspray on your car somehow!
My old baseball coach owns a shop so he said he'll do it for $350 and he did the cars in the car show for nissan Hawaii too so I know the quality is there. I think it kinda works like a deterant to thiefs right now.
