Rotor/Brake question?

Greets,

Near the outer edge of my right front rotor, about 1/4" in from the edge, has developed a line. The line(showed up around 9.6k) used to be just visible but the surface of the rotor was smooth. Now the line is a tiny bit deeper than the surface of the rotor. Can someone tell me if this should be covered under warranty repair?

None of the other rotors have this. Can someone tell what is causing this line on the rotor?

The brakes have 11K on then, they dont squeak and I don't have any judder yet? ...(fingers crossed)

Are you sure it is deeper than the surrounding rotor surface? can you actually feel it with your fingers? These lines are fairly common... I think caused by variations in pad material and/or dust build-up under the pad... but they are usually just surface variations. It would be uncommon for an actual gouge to form in the rotor with so few miles on it.

If you make sure your wheels are correctly torqued you will probably not get judder. But with frequent braking hard from high speeds (say, 100+) you might, especially if you don't give 'em time to cool before stopping. If you really need this ability then an aftermarket brake kit (rotors and pads) is probably for you.

Its hard to feel, but yes it is a bit deeper. I dunno if it is in transition to do what you are saying, but yes the outer surface just started to wear down. I hoping it will level out.

Wheels are torqued in @ 84lb-ft
