U can tell if it has traction control if u see a little button under the gauges on the dast to the right of the steering wheel. there is a little button which allows u to turn it off. when racing u should always turn this off.

No manual transmission Maxima has traction control (except the HLSD, but that's a different topic). I think all auto 00-01's had traction control and it might be an option on the 02's. Not sure though.

No Maxima that is a manual transmission has Traction Control... The 2K2 6 speeds have HLSD as an option..... I have traction control on my 2K2 Auto, it is not standard , it is an OPTION. There is a swith on the left side to turn it off. If you dont turn it off, and race, it will slow you down a lot !

Im sure he doesnt. The nissan dealer asked me " Do you really need a SE with everything "... I said YES ! .. I was just negotiating the price ..and they were trying to get me down, and deleting options...... Before I knew it I would be in a GXE !

I think others have touched on this somewhat, but I know a lil bit bout options, since I'm about to buy my Max. The traction control is an OPTION, and ONLY on the auto. Like Kloogy said, you can get the LSD for the 6speed. Do you have that option Kloogy, or anyone else? For those of you that have the feature or have driven a Max w/it, what do you think about it?

On 2002 models. I've got a VLSD and TC on my SEAE.

And TC is an option.

And there was a difference between US and Canadian models. Previous 5th gen Canadian models either got traction control or VLSD standard... I don't recall which one though. I recall a lot of talk about jacking up the car and turning the wheels, so it might have been a VLSD. Don't know if that's still true or not.

Is our Traction Control all speed or is there a speed limit where it cuts out and stops working?
