I was getting on the highway from school at about 8 PM. A Civic with hyper whites rolls up behind me. Didn't realize it was turbo until he pulled up to my side. I knew the car was turbo as he used to live in a apartment in front of mine.

We kept pace for about 3 miles until I-40 turned into 4 lanes. At this time he was almost kissing my *** (my car's *** I mean). At 70MPH I dropped to 3rd and slammed the gas. A short 3rd til redline then 4th. I look back and he's still close, about a carlength. Quick shift into 5th and I start pulling away at around 5K RPM. Hit 125 then quit cause he was about 6 or 7 cars back.

Thought turbo EX's would be faster than that. Just another kill.

are you sure he was racing you?
my 1996 Civic EX (SOHC) ran 13.50 with a simple bolt on GReddy turbo kit & other minor mods (stock internals).
He should have pulled on you like you were standing still.
(based on your mods)

Yeah...I raced a Turbo Civic in Mad Max and got demolished. He went by me so fast in 3rd gear he almost blew me off the road.

But, there are alot of different kits for Hondas. Some of the tame kits are kinda wimpy....a Max will run or beat one of those. The real serious ones rock. There are a few street Turbo Hondas around here that run 11's.

Well my civic had one of those so-called "wimpy" turbo kits...cuz if you know about the GReddy kit you know that the turbo it uses is a Mitsubishi TD04...this is a TEEENY TINY turbo (same one used on the AUTO DSM'S)...

One question. Why did you shift into 5th. There is no advantage to shifting to 5th.

Same thing I was thinking? shifting to 5th will actually slow U down until U are about to redline in 4th.
