Small piece on the Stillen Y Pipe

I had my Y Pipe installed a few weeks ago and a different post made me think of this today. The muffler shop told me that it would be impossible to install the small piece on the Y pipe (the one that goes to the engine block) because there was no way to remove all the other stuff that was there.

I have Cal spec, but is this right? The shop that I bought it from had no clue.

alright let me just clear this up 4 u. its not just u all the 5th gens cant use that peice, i dont have a cali spec and i still cant use mine. u see the y-pipe makes power by removing the pre-cat assenbmly, the pipe the we got from stillen, u basically use half of what u pay for. the only way u can the the full potential od by guttin the from pre-cat, which id rather u leave alone. its a pain takes forever to do, and the muffler shops wont do it becasue it illegal to reomove any cat in good working order.

thats why i personally dont recommed doing it, but yea it does throw the ses light on, and i finally cleared mine today, but unlike most people i have the proper tools to do it with, OBD-II with the K2 key, driven a while with it too, when i first gutted it, the light came on within 5 miles, since ive reset it earlier on today, around 10am ive driven like 50miles and the light hasnt gone on.....yet, but hope it wont. ill have to wait and see how long it lasts, it give the code 420, 430 catalyst bank. but so far so good. i ran the car with the scanner hooked up and everything looks goods for now, ill keep posted if the ses comes on but for that extra few extra hp i would suggest no1 u gut their precat. its a pain to deal with trust me!

ok it lasted a total of about 150 miles. and the lights back on, i was on the way home from work like 30min ago and it went on as i was pullin in the garage oh well i can keep reseting the code over and over all i want its just an extra 30sec every two-three days. its worth it to not see that anoying light. and im really thinking about relocating the O2 sensor. the small o2 sensor plug i got from stillen mihgt just do the trick. but im gonna have to relocate both the upstream and downstream sensors in the front bank. but i dont have time to do that for atleast the next two-three weeks. too busy at work and thats the only place i can do my mods, and i dont really feel like stayin and extra hr to ghetto rig me o2's. but im gonna have to do it sooner or later. either that, or i might as well wait for chimp programable ecu. but for now ill just keepon resettin every couple days. so unless u like a bright yellow light glowing in your face all the time dont do this. peace

The few times I had the ses light come on I always felt self-concious and thougt people would believe I was not taking care of my Maxima cause it has error lights on and they are really visable at night.
