top speed

$1.46 on the plains of Wyoming. It is quite interesting to pass the other cars faster than they are passing the grass on the side of the road.

99 Maxima 5spd: Did 125 indicated racing a Solara V6...didn't even downshift to 4th b/c the Solara was too slow. Just pulled in 5th all the way from 90 up to 125. Had plenty more pull but was running out of road with traffic coming up.

02 Highlander: Wouldn't even think about trying it.

01 Accord V6: Did about 126 indicated (120-ish actual) racing an Acura TL-P. Beat him!

90 Camry 4-cyl 5spd: 110 indicated flat out in 4th. That's all she wrote!

other cars from my past...

84 Pontiac 6000 2.8L V6 carbureated, and about 110 cranky HP (my very very very first car): You could bury the needle past 85 but then somewhere around 95-100 or so there would be so much load on the tranny that it would think it needed a downshift so it would come out of lockup in 3rd (top gear). But then the revs would be too high so it would go back into lockup. Repeat. It would keep doing this and literally start shaking the entire car apart so you had to back off before something broke.

85 Camry LE hatchback auto (2.0L 92 HP 12-valve) (mom's old car): about 93 flat out in 3rd gear.

00 Camry LE auto (2.2L 133 HP 16-valve) (dad's current car): about 100 flat out in 3rd trying to keep up with a Probe GT.

I got my 2K1 GXE to the 132 MPH cutout, but then I cruised at 120-130 for about 20 miles. Remarkably quiet and secure, I knew it had a lot more but for the speed governor.

My top speed was 142 or so in my '92 Integra LS. It ran out of torque and needed a little downhill push to get up there but it had enough horsepower to cruise comfortably up- and down-hill, throttling as necessary to keep it at 140. While secure, I didn't feel comfortable letting it go higher on another downhill push.

South central New Mexico's secondary roads are a great place to travel in a good car.

The fastest ever was in a 1969 RoadRunner with a 440 Cubic inches-Magnum six pack with tons of mods, anyway it was around 165 mph, with my 2K1 AE max I've been to 143MPH - 245Km/hr.

Cheers

My 2k Max 134 on the 15 going to Vegas.

My friend's Lamborghini Diablo 211...it has twin turbos giving it about 850 to 900 HP. This was on a road in Arizona going to Mexico. He told me to let him know when he hits 180. I didn't say anything till he looked down at the speedo...YOWCH! I really didn't notice because I didn't dare look at the side of the road. The car was still very stable. I wanna be the one driving next time. Of course with my luck a tire would blow.

sunroof wouldnt make it or break it for me. its nice to have but its totally not necessary. dont let it keep you from getting the 6 speed.

Good Gravy, my crappy record, and currently serving a suspension, and Travellers Group has picked me up again @ under $300/ mo, but they wanted 1yr in advance. Military status helped, and if all else fails, I re-enlist.

HOW COME I NEVER SEE THESE OTHER NY PEOPLE ????????????????????

Got to a little over 130mph, after that it didn't really pull that much and began to run out of road. It's an autotragic so thats kind of what I expected. Car felt good though! Wish I had a six speed!! But wife can't drive standard. Fastest I have ever been was in my old Datsun, fully worked rally car. I was clocked at 137mph and still had approx 1500 rpm till red line.
