jet chips ecu upgrade

I have a 2002 se 6 speed and would like to do a few mods and not sure where to start. I see jet chips has an ecu upgrade and was wondering if anyone has used this or a any other ecu upgrades. This is my third maxima. My first was a 98 se 5 speed. My second was a 2000 se auto. Both with no mods. So I am ready to something with this one.Any input would be great.

I have heard nothing but bad things about JET chips. If someone can provide some dyno proof that would be different, but otherwise my advice to you would be to stay away.

I spoke to someone at Jet and they said you would be looking at a 15-20hp gain to the wheels depending on what other mods you do ie. intake, exhaust. This sounded spectacular so I called Nissan and they said that it would not void your warranty but if they trace the problem back to the ECU (ie. blown waterpump) you would be S.O.L.Plus you would have to send your $1200 ECU away and be with out your baby for upto 5 days. Not worth it in my opinion.

Additionally, the chip or ecu upgrades should be the last thing you do!
