Has NE1 eliminated all the interior rattles on their 2k Max?

My max interior is louder than my 92 300Z - Seems to be all coming from the dash. I eliminated the trunk deck rattle by stuffing a towel between the frame and the board - but the ones in the front are really gettin to my nerves. Well - here's to a quiet ride...

They weren't originally there, but matured with time...

Looking for techniques and help...
Well, I'm glad for those of you that don't have the rattles and hope it stays that way. Sounds like my whole dash was put together like a snap tight model. I guess most of the trim actually is like that. Except nothing snapped tight. My Max was made in March - so... that is probably one of the reasons... I'm looking for input and techniques to quiet this thing down.

No rattles here - except the change that keeps falling out of my pocket and collecting on the floor in the back! LOL. By the way, when something gets under those seats - it is gone.

Try what I did - if you can get in between the metal frame and the rear deck - stuff some foam up there to dampen the vibrations. Nissan "under-engineered" this piece - It just needs a little padding to minimize the rattle. Besides that and my fix to the A-pillar, is all I have been able to accomplish.

Tom - it seems (from what I have read on this forum) that the early production max's were riddled with problems - like bad TCMs, rattles, etc... Maybe Nissan fired the Jacka*s who was putting the interior pieces together after March 2K... who knows...

Ya.. it does seem like Nissan took lessons from Microsoft before releasing the first 2K Max's.. (Released with plenty of bugs)..
Too bad they don't make service packs for cars.. :-)
Lucky I guess, that I have one of the later ones... (besides, I got the 17" wheels with my SE... they weren't offered earlier in the year)

I LOOKED AROUND THE SUB AREA, FROM THE TRUNK, AND THERE IS NO WAY I CAN STUFF THE SPACE INBETWEEN THE DECK AND THE FRAME WITH ANYTHING. LET ME KNOW HOW U DID IT, I REALLY WANNA DO THIS, HOW EXACTLY U GOT INBETWEEN AND THROUGH WHERE???

Hey - my car doesn't have the sub - so I just got in between the space where the sub would be and shoved some foam into the frame. You'll probably have to remove the sub. - or.. have your dealer fix it.. I think there is even a service bulletin on rattles in the trunk deck. though I'm not sure what the number is... Good luck

I have serious bass in my car. 2 kicker solo baric 12's. I have a car that sounds like it costs 10,000 dollars. It rattles terribly all over. But i can't complain too much it doesn't leave me stranded like the old firebird
I have taken it to the dealership several times and they say that don't even hear the rattles. It makes me want to strangle them.

i've got 2 12s in the trunk pushing 146 dB...i did not have any rattling before i got the subs in. after i got the subs, i had a lot of rattling so i had the rear deck and entire trunk dynomatted (a form of soundproofing)...the rattling is not nearly as bad but there is still a little...thats what happens when we own $30000 rather than $50000 bimmers
Hey Jet...
I have a question on where and how you eliminated(or lessened) the rear deck rattle...I have a non-bose SE so I do have the opening where the woofer would be. I've tried sticking foam right around the edges of the opening and all the available space in the opening(not much as you know because of the foam spacers there)
Are you using a stick or something poke and push the foam or socks or whatever you are using to different areas of the lid? I can't seen too get it any deeper than right around the woofer
Thanks

i brought it into my local car audio shop (not one that advertises on the radio...not best buy or circut city either)...just tell them you want the rear deck dynomatted...if you are a do it yourself guy...when you put the rear seats down (not sure if you can in earlier maximas but if you can't i have no idea what you should do)...then you take off the panels behind the seats...it takes awhile to get the entire rear deck off but it can be done and takes about an hour or two the first time you do it...after that its a 15 min job...after you take off the panels behind the seats, you need to take off the pieces on the sides of the seats where the seatbelts are (you might have to take the bottom part of the back seat out first)...then you can just pull the deck up...sorry if that didn't make much sense but i am in a rush and just wanted to respond to that
