And it was faster than I thought. While following my g/f home after she got off work tonight (she's short, petite, hot, and drives a POS, so I worry), I passed 3 cars going the other way, an Accord V6, Civic, & Del Sol, and they were obviously going somewhere together. So immediately after she turned onto her street, I flipped around and went to go find them. They turned out to be pretty cool, and when a guy in an Eclipse GT pulled up, the Accord owner said we should go run. He had an auto, with at least intake and exhaust, and was more than happy to oblige the Accord owner. So we went from a 20 roll, and by about 90 or so I had pulled about 4 or 5 carlengths on him. He also had a passenger though, and we both figured that he might be making the difference, so we went back to drop him off at the parking lot where everyone else was. At that point, cops started showing up like crazy, so we ended up calling off any further fun. He was definitely faster than I thought an auto would've been. It doesn't feel like my car's running up to par right now, but it could just as easily be my imagination. Does anyone here have any idea what a modded auto V6 Eclipse would run in the 1/4? He promised me we'd run again (to save his ego, I think), but if that doesn't happen, I'd like to see if I was where I should've been at with him.

 

sorry to say but for him to try again was a remark to save his ego, because one passenger wont make up a 5car lead. a 4-5 car lead means u smoked him by about 1sec in the 1/4 mile which is a long time in the 1/4. so let him be on a empty tank and alone, ur still gonna take him by atleast, and i mean atleast 2car clearance from his front bumper to your rear. but still nice kill. the only problem im having here is that every1, and i mean every1 is gettin n2o. its gettin anoying, i mean cars that i can beat very badly are right next to me or in a few cases lightly ahead.

 

i hope you didn't use your NOS to beat him but that sounds about right for an auto 2k with your mods

 

i raced a 1998 eclipse modded to hell,, upgraded turbo, intake anfd exhaust at the least...my 2k1 in a 5 speed blew that mitsu's door off @ about 70 mph...never underestimate the power of a NISSAN....

My friend has the same set up on his eclipse and he's pushing 400hp to the wheels. Cars like that run 12's. You'd be lucky to see his tail lights after a few seconds. Maybe his wastegate was stuck open =P

 

the eclipse i raced was probably an auto,,, and here in s.w florida,, just because someone's car is modded doesnt necessarily mean they can drive... i also have 2 witnesses one owns a 98 max and the other a 2k2 wrx impreza... they watched me race the eclipse.. i dont doubt that a mitsu with that much done isnt faster,, we just kina guessed what was done we saw the exhaust, and heard the turbo spool.. we guessed on the intake cause my turbo 96 gst with nakiyama exhaust wasnt that fast...

 

No, I wasn't spraying. I met up with the guys in a parking lot, and when I went to check the bottle pressure, it was 1300psi, so I never opened it. Next time maybe I'll bring a wet towel or something to cool it off. Then I could really have some fun with his pride...
