Eibach clearance question

My car has been lowered with Eibachs and I want to purchase a set of 17/8 wheels on 235/45 tires. The sales tech at the Tire Rack said there may be a clearance problem because the car is lowered. I've never heard this before being an issue with Eibach springs, is he just being overly cautious?

I have 18x8's with 235/30/18 and there is still enough room to fit Ally Mcbeal in there front or rear!

There should be no problems whatsoever. I have 17's with 235/40's and I still have about a quarter to half inch gap in the front and about a quarter inch in the rear.

I bought them from www.tirerack.com I didn't see them anywhere else on the net for that price. They raped me on shipping though, but considering the weight for rims & tires that was pretty cheap($150S&H)

I have Eibachs and Ground Controls that are slammed all the way. With that size, you will most likely have light rubbing when your steering wheel is cranked all the way. The rubbing will come from inside the wheel well. I experienced this with a 2255017. The problem is not bad, just don't crank your steering wheel all the way.

With the 18"s the problem has surprisingly disappeared- I have a 225 40 18.

Why did you go with that 225? Weight?

TRUblu2K2: I know I got a great deal, but I think they got some deal with FedEx or something cuz that was for 2 day air. They need to let stillen in on that shipping deal! Bastards want to charge me close to 80 bones for shipping a Y pipe 2 day air!

The wheel is only 7.5 inches wide. Spec won't allow a 235 series on a 7.5" wheel.

I actually had the 235 ordered, but it said the minimum width was 8 inches. Then I figured y2kse would make a mockery of me and attempt to ruin my life for being foolish enough to buy tires out of spec.....

Had to get the 225 to be on the safe side.

BTW...If I haven't told you yet...I want to have sex with your wheels.
