"NISSAN" and "SE" emblems removed....before and after pics
I just removed my "MAXIMA" and "SE" emblems off.
Here are before and after pics:
If you are thinking about removing them, I highly suggest it.

what about the glue?
I have no problem getting the badges off, but the glue is rather difficult to remove; I pulled off my SE badge and used a sponge and some cleaner to remove the glue; now when you look close (or at a the right angle) you can see where the SE was and where I was scrubbing; this is a 2000 model; is the ghost "SE" due to paint fade? Will this problem be resolved with a good wax job?

I don't know what color your car is but the fact that you used a sponge and a cleaner does not sound too good. You could have damaged your paint depending on what type of cleaner you used, but if you did then the whole area would be affected. Just use a mild polish and it should come right off. I have had my 2k superblack for over two years and when the badges came off I just peeled the glue then polished it twice.

I used dental floss and flossed behind the "MAXIMA" AND "SE" to take off the letters. I then used my finger to roll the tape off the paint. I waxed the surface afterwards.
Hey Greg, why not use a SE-R badge and be a unique Maxima?

I don't know about "correctly" debadge? But this is what I have learned from just reading posts. Get a blow dryer and heat the badge you would like to remove. It all depends on where you live because other places are hotter or colder than others. In Hawaii its pretty hot outside so I let my car sit for like 8hrs in the sun and then used the blow dryer. After you have heated you use the dental floss to get behind the badge to pull it off. Not much force needs to be added if you heated the badge up enough. As for the glue, because my car had been sitting in the sun for so long I just peeled it off with my fingers. Then followed with a polish to get off all residue.

The Nissan emblem still looks good by itself. At least it's better than spending the time to patch holes in the trunk!

i prefer the stock look, but like someone else said: it is nice to be unique. it would be nice if I had something on my car other than wheels that people could look at to know my car from anyone else.
