2k2 tails on a 2k?
Does anyone have the 2k2 tail lights on their 2k max. The reason I ask this is because I want to order them and the Nissan dealer tells me that they do not fit correctly and that he has had people bring them back????? Is this true or is he bull $hitting?

he is feeding you a complete line of BS!!! Of course they will fit...no worries. This is just another example of why so many dealers out there are just full of sh**!!! I have them on my 2k iclandic pearl max and they are the shiznit. My .02 is they look better on lighter colored cars, but....

Thats what i thought that he was giving me all B.S. "I am a nissan oem parts expert and have been selling parts for 11 yrs" is what he said. HAHAHAHA So you really dont think they will look good on green?

I just bought them a few weeks ago for $188.20/shipped. I put them on in about 30 minutes. Had a great time with that black sealant crap. Yes, they are EXACT replacements. IMHO, they look better on the lighter colors.

I happen to really like them anyway, but my opinion is that they look better on lighter cars. If I had green I might consider it. My car is white, so in my mind it was a no brainer. It gives the car a cleaner look.

I just checked the site. They were having a special about two weeks ago. One of those "we must be nuts" things. The current price is $100.22/side. Not much better than any other place -- except for shipping costs. Ground shipping was/is free. I live in Florida. Ordered them on a Friday, had them the next Thursday. I posted the price on the forum when I bought them, sorry it missed you!

Those dealers are f*ckin idiots. When I went to test drive the Max, I knew more about it (thanks Maxima.org!) than two of the salesmen together. I don't think the 5th gen taillights look very good at all, but I like the 2K2's a lil better. I was considering doing a taillight conversion, possibly put in some R33 or R34 or I35 tails. Just my $.02

thats where I got mine..
btw, dont try to fight the sealant.. it will win.. it takes mineral spirits or gas to get it off your hands.. You dont really have to touch it much to do the swap, just dont get all **** about it and try to remove it all (the old stuff).. it will make a serious mess...
you can use something sticky like Masking or duct tape to pull the old stuff off (like you'd do to get pet fur off of clothes).

when you put 2k tails in your 2k2, you need to use the 2k wiring harness... when you use the wiring harness, you can get it to fit but the tail lights wont come on for some reason. the turn signals work, the reverse lights work, when you hit the brakes the bulbs come on but not when you have your lights on. i put my 2k2 harness on the 2k but i switched the socket for the turn signal because one of the bulbs wouldnt fit..
i put them on my car, everything works good so im happy.. everything fit on my cousins car with my 2k2 tails. then i realize he had the same problem that i had
i call 7 dealers and the last one i call says they have the socket assembly for the 2k2 in stock so my cousin goes to pick it up. it turns out the retard gave him the harness for the 2k and they didnt even have the 2k2 ones in stock.
now he orders them and they say friday morning. my cousin cant use his car wednesday and thursday night because the tails wont come on lol.. he calls today and they say they MIGHT come in tomorrow but most likely monday.. imagine that? they really need to choose some smarter people for nissan. watch out if you get warranty work, they might try to put a sentra part in your max without realizing

The lamp assemblies you ordered from me come with new bulbs & harnesses. If you order the '02 lens/housing by itself, the '00 bulb sockets will not fit. The '02 lamp assemblies come with the correct '02 bulbs & harness that plugs right into the '00 body harness. I guess people have been getting the '02 lens/housing (cheaper)& then they try to plug the '00-'01 bulb sockets into it. You will not have this problem-

Thanks Dave. They were getting me confused for a second their. So I will be getting this plug-in harness from you that will make everything work fine, right? By the way, for those of you that say the smoked tails are better than chrome, I personally dont think so. The tails I have now are just plain Amber not smoked.
Thanks again Dave!
Thanks again Dave!
