Filling in front plate holder holes?

My dealer (in his infinite wisdom) decided to put the front license plate holder on my new 2K2. While I appreciate the sturdiness and aerodynamic wonder that they want me to advertise their dealship with , I dinna like it so I took it off.

I have 2 fairly large screw holes in my plastic bumper cover where they placed the tapped screws.
I pose this question.
Has anyone sucessfully filled and "made them disappear"?
If so, would you part with the process. I'm going to 3M guard soon and would like to do what I can first.

Thanks all,
Shaydz

Yes, an Altimas.net member sells little plastic plugs that work great on license plate holes. I bought two sets myself. Take a look below; if you like what you see, PM me and I'll put you in touch with him. Or you can just get in touch with him yourself.

Only thing I can tell you is to find some plugs at your local hardware store and see if that works. Find some plastic ones and paint them with touch up paint.

There is no other way unless you planning on using bondo filler and then sand it down, prime, and then paint it.

Re: Filling in front plate holder holes?

Sounds kind of cheesy, but I took the end out of a BIC pen and it fit great with just a bit of trimming. Painted it with touch up paint, can't hardly tell anymore. Course, now when I get stopped, I can't tell the cop that one of the bolts just came off, and I haven't gotten around to replacing it yet (CA requires a front plate).

I know the feeling. You saw that friggin' barn door they stuck on our G. Ridiculous. The Altima wasn't much better, either.

BTW, *****'s little plugs come unpainted. I just sanded 'em with a medium grit to roughen the surface a little, then put on two coats of Nissan touch-up paint. After they dried overnight, I wet sanded them with an extra-fine (2000 grit) sandpaper to bring out the shine, drilled out the holes in my bumpers with a 3/8" bit and popped them in. They look great.

radpp16: What plate holder plugs? :got me:
Mine was held in by 2 big ass screws (Sorry Kev). I will gladly send them to you if you really want but the postage will probably cost more than the screws a Home Depot. Let me know.
I haven't looked for plugs like ***** was offering - it seems like I saw some in the special attachments section of Home Depot (yeah, I spend a lot of time there. )
I was kinda hopin for a cool way to fill in, smooth over, touch up paint , good as new but I'll take off the rose colored glasses now.

Actually the plugs looked pretty sweet. That could work until a Ninja finds its way as a replacement.

Thanks for all the responses folks!

When I get get done, I'll post pics.
