TSB info/unique problem question

i have a 2k auto SE. ok, i'm a little new to these TSBs...so if you give a TSB to a dealer and he agrees that there is a problem then they fix it for free, even if you are over the 3 year/36k warranty? i ask this b/c i'm in the army stationed in germany and i have yet to go ask the nissan dealer about this since i'm about to burn down the place anyways. when i was under the 36k warranty i wanted them to fix something and they would not honor the warranty even though it says (remember from memory), "This warranty is void overseas except for military personnel stationed abroad owning privately owned vehicles." i have contacted a JAG lawyer here and she's working the problem. you have no idea how rude germans are, especially at this nissan dealership. any high-ranking nissan executives surf this site b/c your german dealerships have major customer issues when dealing with servicemen? nissan declines to reply to a detailed letter i sent almost 10 months ago.

If it's a powertrain issue (tranny slips), you have 5 year/60k warranty for it. If you are out of warranty then you have to pay for it yourself to get it repaired.

haha...

German Nissan dealers??! *Papers PLEASE!!!* Man, thats the stuff nightmares are made of..

TSB's dont really correlate to the warranty.. some TSBs extend coverage in their wording, but thats rare.

For example, wear items such as brakes are covered to 12k/1yr (as are all cars), but the TSB extends coverage to 36K/3yrs.

A TSB isnt a recall.. far from it. Its really more of a bulletin. There are TSB's for dealers on such stuff as "How to use a wrench" or "Try not to poke yourself in the eye while gouging up a customers dash when doing warranty work". TSB's also outline diagnostic practices that may have changed from the last Factory Service manual.

Presenting TSBs to any dealer usually puts them in defensive mode. You'd think that they would appreciate the informed consumer, but the service manager usually gets torqued about it. I guess its a control issue..

Actually, I know why.. its a pain for them because they get warranty work turned down too. Technically they are in the middle. Even if you have the TSB in hand and they agree with you, Nissan may turn down the claim.. what can they do then? Contrary to what Nissan says, they still have to have every claim approved or they wont pay the dealer.
