Exhaust Tones
I would like to give my 2k1 Max that really low, solid, exhaust tone of a German car... like a BMW, Mercedes or even a Volkswagen. I absolutely don't want ricey. It has to be solid but not obtrusive into the cabin at highway speeds or under hard acceleration... no droning. The kind of sound you really feel as much as hear.
Is there an after-market muffler that would do this? maybe removing the resonator? I am also interested in keeping costs as low as possible.
Thanks for advice...

Yup. But if you ever add a Y-pipe, you're going to be in for something of a shock!

Its not the same, but they sound similar, they are both free flowing mufflers, and are both good quality Stainless Steel..

**Also, does anybody out there have a soundclip of a FLOWMASTER muffler? I was hoping for some opinions of people who have actually heard one of them before...what series, etc... They sound awesome on V8's, but on V6's?

Now if I can find a shop that will cut out the resonator and weld in some stainless pipe for a good price.

Yup...it sounds like removing the resonator is the way to go. I just want a little more authority in the sound the car makes... not a loud muscle car. And definitely not a buzzing ricer.
