my first problem with my 2k se

it was really hot today. 90s!! i was driving around in the city. a lot of stop and go's. all of a sudden, i start hearing a very strange noise whenever i made a turn. the sound which resembles a whistling sound. it is most audible whenever i take right hand turns. what could this problem be? any of you guys heard of this before?

my 2k used to do this.
Go to the dealer and let them check it out.
It's a simple fix

ive had my car for 2 years and its never made this kind of sound. its as if its coming from the brakes but its not the brakes. somehow the steering wheel is associated with the sound because whenever i turn it to the right... even a little it makes the sound. funny thing is, the car isnt making the sound now. did it have something to do with the crazy heat?

Dude, I had to repaint my front grill in 110 degree hell today. 90 degrees is not hot....... I wish it were 90.

Is it when you crank the wheel all the way? Or the entire time?

The key, as always, is to be able to demonstrate the problem in front of a Service Writer. They generally won't fix what they can't see or hear.

110º is hot! you win.

and well, the answer to your question is both. sometimes even turning the steering wheel slightly would make a whistle, and sometimes not. sometimes turning the wheel all the way would make it whistle, sometimes not. the sound IS coming from the outside though... and it was quite audible. like, if someone were standing on the curb and id pass by they would hear it and look at my car like wtf?

y2kse: i hope this is only a freak occurence and will not happen again. if it does... meesa think ima screeeeeeewed.

Check the power steering fluid. Have you ever hear a power steering pump low or dry? It's makes a really disturbing noise.

how full is it supposed to be? there are two levels: hot and cold, and for hot its right between the max and min line. for cold though, the level is above the max line.
