What does it cost to get a car dynoed?

And can they measure hp at the flywheel, or just the wheels?

Dyno

The shop that does mine charges people 50 a pull. They measure the HP at the wheels and use some kind of formula to determine flywheel HP.

It's measured at the wheels when you get it done at a shop. I had a dyno done once at Technodyne in Tempe (on another car). It was $65 per session. I had 2 pulls and both were very similar so I didn't ask for any more. Most places will let you do at least 3 runs especially if you're getting widely varying results.

In order for them to actually get your hp at the flywheel, don't they have to pull your engine and dyno it by itself?

Should be $50-80 for three pulls. Make sure that they have a dynojet and not a Clayton. Dynojet is considered the industry standard.

Hmmmm. For $50-80, I could almost purchase that AE engine cover that I want. I think I'll just guess mine at around 250 hp at the flywheel and call it a day.

Yea really. i wanna know my hp, but for that kind of money i'll take nissan's word for it. all i care about is 1/4 mile time and 0-60. on the street, racing, no one is gonna compare horsepower.

Andy, if you really want to get it dyno'd, let me know. I have some friends down at Street flight in Mesa. They dyno all of our cars, and the service is great. I can get you 1/2 hour for $50.00, or if you want, I'll split 1/2 hour with you, I need to get mine re-dyno'd again.

in order for u to get accurate #'s of flywheel hp ur motor has to be pulled out, even using calculations its not too accurate, every cars hp loss through the drivetrain is different in anycase just get that engine cover for now, and with the mods u got trust me u need to bump up that 250 figure a bit, its probably around 260 at the flywheel.

Sweet! Let me get my new intake and crap on and we can set up an appointment. So splitting it would be $25, right?

I'll tell you what you're up against right now, 210fwhp of Maxima fury. I'm hoping to do 215-220 next time tho' I had electrical tape clogging my mass air on the 210hp pull

why was there electric tape clogging the mass air sensor????? my senses point to some ghetto riggin in ur ride, good luck on the pull though, if u had a grip of tape on the sensor ur #s should rise more then 10hp.

Well, I had built the prototype of my intake with metal pipe, and it did not fit too snug, so I used tape on the ends to snug it up. So then the tape got hot, and started to shrink and unravel, and it ended up in my intake tube
