I am thinking about buying an SE. But before I did, I wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts, suggestions, or feed back regarding what equipment to get, or not to get, and whether anyone had any problems with their Maxima.
Any help thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well, I got my 2000 SE this June....

I got SE 5-speed, fully loaded. Meaning it had leather, Bose, climate control, both power seats, heated, and everything else, 17" wheels.
I like the package that I got a lot.

About the car, well it is another story....

Tell you the truth, I am not very satisfied with this brand new car. Problems started from strut mount being damaged, which took about 3 months to fix, to rattles and poor build quality..

I like the car for it great engine, 5-speed is very nice too. If all those other things would go away, I would be 100% happy. But....

So make your own choice. Maybe you will get a problem free build Maxima.

Good luck.

NO PROBLEMS HERE..

I LOVE IT, THE ONLY THING THAT I'M NOT TOO HAPPY ABOUT IS THAT IT'S FRONT WHEEL DRIVE, OTHER THAN THAT I HAD NO PROBLEMS.
PEACE

I bought my Maxima SE in early September so it was a late production 2000 model. So far, I have not experienced any of the problems with rattles, build quality, or anything. I got an SE with the comfort and convenience and meridian package so it came with the 17" wheels, sunroof, heated mirrors/seats, side airbags, and some other stuff. I like the options I got. It doesn't have BOSE, but I will probably swap out the system in it later anyways. Good luck with your purchase

no regrets here

I picked up my loaded 01 SE/AE in October. So far, so good...nice ride. I haven't added and mods yet, but I've been checking the boards and looking for suggestions. I also considered the 3.2TL. I thought that the Maxima was more "inspiring", and, with the AE package, I was sold. Only complaints are...the cheap plastic feel of the steering wheel hub and emergency brake handle. I got a 01 Pathfinder SE in September and the plastics feels much nicer. All in all, I quite happy with my purchase. Good Luck
