Rim Replacement

What sup fellow Maxima runners!

I have a little dilema here and was hoping you guys/girls may shed some light on it. I have a set of OEM 2k 17" rims. After getting it back from costco from the balancing, the tech guy told me I have one bent rim. I called up Nissan and got a quote for $606 for a stock rim with no tires. I was like D*MN. R u serious. Anyway, right now should I get a set of new wheels or should I go to the junk yard and find me a OEM wheel. Unless someone wants to sell theirs. Your 2 Cents please.

Thanks so much.

Check out AAA Rims at http://www.aaarims.com/ . That is the route I would probably take.

Buy a replica. BUT MAKE SURE YOU USE YOUR OLD CENTER CAP! They are different. Other than that they are the exact same. They should be $125.

i would say to get a new set of rims. oem rims are always so expensive. i would go with a nice set of volks. i have a friend with a sterling mist 2k2 maxima that scratched some rims. he told me that he will be getting a set of 18" volk le-37ts. they are beautiful. i can't wait til he gets them. hopefully he will take lots of pictures for all of us to enjoy.

Junk-yards are nice cause you can always haggle with them.... but I'm with the guy who mentioned the Volks.

Volks are nice, but it seems that if u keep scratching up ur rims, why would you wanna waste all that money on such expensive rims. I'd just go with a less expensive one, if ur worried about damaging it too.

dude, i got the exact same problem

it's been a month and a half and i still haven't decided on what to do. might get the single rim from AAArims, but then i'd be iffy with the stock size wheel on my 235/45/17's tires. the junkyard had a wheel, but for $200 it was too scratched up.

want to get a new set (my other rims have some scratches on them also) but that's $600 at least out the door that i wouldn't mind keeping in the bank . .

anybody know of 17x7.5 or 17x8 size rims that would look tight on the max??

The Moda R-6 is a really nice rim at a reasonable cost (approx $200 per). I bought a set for my y2k from www.tirerack.com last year. These rims are showy without being too tacky. You should check them out...very nice rim. I'll take some pics and post them later this week if you'd like to see them.

Drex

PS: These do come in 17x7.5 too so you'll have no problem with a 235/45/17 tire (that's what I run on mine).
