damn road debris

big a$$ chunk o metal flew two lanes over and tagged my AE lip dead center. it took out a 5 inch chunk and cracked the rest of the center piece.
any idea where i can get a replacement lip, AE or otherwise that doesn't lower the clearance of the car too much?

Could be worse. Some lady was driving on a major freeway here a few months back. There was a 1 ft. square plate of steel that flew up from a truck traveling in the other direction and came through her windshield. They never found the truck driver carrying the steel.

Let's just say she doesn't have a good place to put a hat now.

so any suggestions on a replacement? i don't think i want to replace the entire kit for that one piece. and if i go with another kit, it'll be lower than the rest of my AE kit, at least the ones that i know of. which lips maintain clearance or at least don't lower it too dramatically.

I recently hit a metal garbage can on the 405 freeway. I was going about 70 m.p.h. Gash marks on the front bumper on the driver's side, a small amount of fender damage and a broken splash guard. Total repair bill to the insurance company was about $ 1150. The body shop didn't replace the front bumper. They repaired the damaged area with a hi-tech plastic material. Same with the fender repair. The freeways out here are a garbage dump. Saw a sink and bed frame on the freeway over the weekend. Watch out for truck tire recaps. Those damn things whip the underside of your car something fierce if you run over one. I ran over one years ago and it busted my transmission !
