stillen strut bar

hey guys...i just recently bought a stillen strut bar direct from stillen. the bar came but there are some obstructions that keep me from installing it. i am very unhappy with the finish. the best way i can describe is it is that there is an extra slab of metal on one of the tower mounts. has anyone else had this problem? if so...how can it easily be fixed?
thank you for your anticipated help.

I have the exact same problem, so far no one has told me how to get around this. I am temped to cut the strut ring becuase its only a small piece that has to be removed, but i wonder if this will cause the strut bar to operate improperly. Need help also. Thanks

Call Stillen and find out WTF is up! You guys spent WAY too much money on your FSTBs to be encountering problems of the kind you're describing. And NO modifications of any kind should be required to install a Stillen FSTB if you got the correct one for your model year.

the only probelm ive had with stillen so far is that when i first got the FSTB the holes were drilled in the wring places, u should have seen the look on my face, just send it back and tell them its the wrong peice and that it just wont fit. nothin else i can think of.

is your front strut straight or does it go up and over the engine? It should go up and over. Also talk to Kenny #185

Hey thanks for the #'s. It curves up and over the engine block. I'll try and get back to you guys. Thanks again

it's not the holes...they probably sent urs with two identical plates instead of sending one for the right and left. i had the same problem with this...luckly, i only live 10 minutes from Stillen.

yeah ur lucky i had to wait like a month from the time of delivery to finally get it installed. it wasnt 2 identical plates, trust me. i tried them both evey which way possible, even upside down to be sure
(and no i wasnt gonna install it like that). they were totally machined wrong, the holes were like 1/4" to 3/4" off and all weird. had to send it back. took them a weel to figure out whats wrong with it (go figure, thats stillen 4 you)so it took a while to get mine in. now that i have it in i want the coil-overs and the rsb, but i dont want to get a rsb til i finish my exhaust to it wont get in the way, one less thing to mess with.

Mine went it fine. It's just that the top of the bar hits up against the heat shield and so it pinches off my driver's side windshield washer hose. My driver's side nozzle wouldn't spray. I had to clip off some of the heat shield under the hood and move the hose around a little bit. Guess and check kind of thing. But even when my nozzle DOES spray, it's not like the one on the passenger's side. (So there is still SOME pinching off of the hose.) They really need to design these things better. By the way, I didn't pay the $195 either. I got a "special" price. Kenny is a good guy to deal with.

Later.
