2K2 Clutch Options?

Had my Max to the dealer today. They finally "heard" the rumble from the clutch in first and reverse and they agreed to replace under warranty. All components, clutch, flywheel, pilot bearing and throw out bearing are slated for replacement. However, I was given the option to install an aftermarket clutch of my choice (I will have to buy that part). Does anyone know what my options are or can provide recommendations? Thanks!

If you find out, let me know. I've already had one replaced at 5000 miles, and now my new one is doing the same thing (9600 miles). I've been told by Nissan that they would install the aftermarket one, warranty the INSTALL ONLY, and be sure to step the flywheel, etc. The clutch mfg would warranty the part itself, and Nissan would NOT pay to have it removed if it was defective (unless it was caused by improper install - not stepping flywheel, etc). But they still gave me the option. This also counts as a bump, as I'd like to see if any new news is out on this yet.

Do youself a favor if you decide to go with an aftermarket clutch...Stay away from Centerforce. I had one on my Escort and it was worse that the stock clutch. They may work better on the Max but I had some very bad luck with them.

My issue is with the whining sound that occurs in first gear or reverse, between 1200-1500 rpms and usually when starting on a hill when the clutch is already hot. The sound is absolutely abnormal and should not occur on a car of this caliber. It is caused by either a design or manufacturing defect and the problem has been widely documented on the board. I do not have any tranny problems per se, just the clutch.
