since i got my eibachs, i occasionally scrape on some speed bumps...the eibachs really don't lower the car that much but i have found myself going only a few miles per hour over even semi-small speedbumps. does anyone else have this problem? i don't scrape on smaller speedbumps but here in az, we have some massive curb sized speed bumps

I don't scrape at all... only time I did was going up a curb because someone told me I'll make it. Wonder who might that be...

sometimes when i park, my front bumper can't make it over that little 5 ft x 1 ft cement curb and sometimes it can't make it over a normal curb so i have to park back before the bumper even hits the curb...maybe we have bigger bumps/curbs etc. here in az...i don't know

I can hang my front over a normal sized curb with about 1 cm of clearance left (haven't measured with a ruler). Kind of scary, but I'm glad I don't scrape. I'm in Cali

unless you have a body kit my guess is that the front of the car is not scraping, it's probably your mud flaps scraping as you come down off the speedbump. Same thing was happening to my buddies Accord. We couldn't figure it out, so I got out and watched him go over it and saw what was actually happening.

The Eibach lowers the Max about 1.25 inch in the front, which is not so bad. With any car that is lowered, extra caution should be exercised when near curb..

I had the mud flaps with Eibachs on and never scrapped going over a speed bump. Are your struts shot?

i don't have mud flaps and sometimes when i am going over speedbumps, i can hear what i think is my exhaust scraping...i can hang on a curb just like kev w/ about the same clearance but those are on normals curbs...we have a lot of larger curbs here...no body kit either...the body kit for the 2k max (at least this is what i have noticed) doesn't seem to lower it at all, it just sticks out some more...maybe lowers it a tiny bit but it seems to just make all of the lower lines of the body much more visable

kev, how can i tell if my struts are shot...i doubt it but my ride is pretty rough...i don't know anyone w/ a customized 2k max to compare w/ and i've only seen 1 (red w/ springs, exhaust...not sure what else) around town...i know there is a supercharged black 5spd. that my service dealership sold awhile ago but i haven't seen it (thinking they didn't sell it...they were asking 39k and it just had a body kit, exhaust, supercharger, and rims...cloth interior and no extra features...base model se

i am probably going to get the tokicos within the next few weeks...since everyone has said that they are amazing...how much should i expect to pay for install? i've heard the shocks are $300 for the set of 4 (is it worth it?) i'm guessing about $150 for install...let me know

You can see if your struts are shot if you push down on your car and see it bounce up and down... up and down (sort of like a spring, but not as bad). Good ones go down and come back up... no movement afterwards.

I think you can get the install for around the same price as your springs install. They're basically doing the same process. I don't know how much the Tokico's cost because I didn't order them myself.

Where are you located? I see you posting in the West Coast forum. You're probably SoCal... am I correct?

SCrape

I used to scrape a lot. I have Ground controls, so my car is sitting close to the ground. I just take everything at an angle especially speedbumps. Its the trouble of lowering cars. hehe

Re: SCrape

I had a problem with the spring off the shock0-
It scraped then only and it was really bumpy- like riding a horse or sumthin...

check to make sure ur springs are on the perch of the shock... if not get it fixed.

With eibach pro-kits and stillen y-pipe... i scrape in parking garages going to the next floor, and since i live in vegas and we have hundreds of parking garages, it happens quite a bit. The y-pipe hasn't substained any REAL damage, it still sounds horrible when you hear it hit.

What's really fun is when you're trying to make a light at a major intersection where the cross road is up a bit higher than the road you're on. Major scrapage going up, and major scrapage coming down. I've done this enough to know not to try to make a "greenish-yellow" light at these kinds of intersections anymore.
