open ur hood, behind the radiator, infront of the valve cover, look down.

if you see 4 plugs that are connected, you have a cali spec.. i fyou dont, you got a fed spec.

i myself have a cali spec.

Cali emissions are more strict than fed emissions..

Which means it's also slower..

Not true. It is just different emissions controls. They are the same speed. Nissan did not release different specs for Cali/Fed. Both came with the V6 3000 engine, both have 222 hp.

All 2K1s are Cali. They are all 222 hp- same as the 2K Fed.

You are correct. And if anyone wants proof, take a look at Desert Pearl's writeup on his Cali-spec to Fed-spec conversion. He dyno tested his Cali-spec setup and gained only about 1.5 hp to the wheels when he converted to Fed-spec. He admitted that converting from Cali-sped to Fed-spec really wasn't worth the effort. The only real advantage was that the Fed-spec setup gave him a slightly smoother engine idle than the Cali-spec setup.

What . . . you think I know something? The only thing I know is how to read English!

The guys that know something are the guys that put their pocketbooks and their vehicles on the line to push for and experiment with new equipment and new technologies. Those are the guys that deserve our respect.

I was under the assumption that most new cars nowadays are Cali specs, just for the purpose of reducing emissions. At least you were smart enough to ASK first. I ordered a Fed spec Y-Pipe because I assumed I had a Fed Spec car. I don't live in California!! Anyway...try fitting a Cattman Fed Spec Y-Pipe onto the exhaust manifold of a Cali Spec car. It doesn't...quite...fit.
