2K2 N2O on the Dyno!
2K2 w/ NITROUS on the Dyno!
I posted this already in the dyno sheet thread but Ethan suggested I make another thread just for this so here it is.
I took my 2K2 to the dyno today and here are the results.
I am still unahppy with the numbers but I suppose I still have more tuning to do. I started with a .053" jet which is supposed to be a 125 shot but it wasn't even in the ballpark. So I made a few more runs each time upping the jet size and the HP along with them. I ended up using a .067" jet which is supposed to be a 160 shot. I didn't even get close to 160hp so I assume I need to remove the filter in front of the solenoids and clean it out.
I have said it before and I will say it again, this motor will handle a true 150 shot and I will prove it. Today was merely a stop gap and I only have 60hp left to attain my goal.
Best run with N2O
Here is my first run with N2O that I sprayed from 2000 RPM with a .053 jet. Notice how much torque the juice makes at low RPMS.

I posted the details of the fuel and nitrous system in this thread.
As for the tires breaking loose all I can say is that this car has more traction than any FWD I have ever driven. 1st gear is the only gear that I can't effectively spray the juice. Second gear will only spin if I speed shift from first with the nitrous on. If I back off the throttle just long enough to get it in gear all it does is pull. It's really not healthy to bog an engine like what I did on that first run. I usually wait till at least 3000 RPMs before i spray in 2nd or 3rd on the street. But if I do speed shift/no lift going into second gear it will roast the tires all the way through until it's time ot shift to 3rd.
Also, as you can see on the graphs, the EFI dry system fades in when you use it so it isn't as much of a shock tot he drivetrain as one would imagine. A fogger system would probably have a more uniform powerband. My experience with those is that they seem to make a solid stream of power from start to finish. But they will shock a drivetrain with instant gobs of torque.

BTW how is your fuel system set up to handle this?

125 MPH with no seatbelt eh? You're a braver soul than me.
Something's definitely not right with your setup. My 4DSC got 284.3 horsepower and 302.8 torque off 100 shot, so you should be MUCH higher with 160 shot.
Nice numbers and good luck finding your problem.

which nitrous kit are you using? if you're using an NOS kit with powershot solenoids, i should warn you that these particular solenoids are flow-limited to 150 hp at the wheels. you want to see 150fwhp, just run open jet.

I really do appreciate all of the positive feedback I have gotten over the dyno results. It's very encouraging to do more. But I do recall that there are at least one or two more people in this forum who have posted higher HP numbers. If I knew their names I would mention them.
Any of you who have posted high or higher numbers please feel free to post them in this thread. I know not everyone has turned in their numbers to the thread we have dedicated to hp figures.
Maybe we should get a database that everyone in the forum can post to. It shouldn't be year discriminative. Any Maxima.org member with any year should be able to display their hard work.
Any thoughts or comments?

As you can see Im going all out on this one. When I go to the Rock I would really like to dip into the 12's and if I don't i'll be very dissapointed.

So I have already beaten that 300hp mark but just didn't do it on the dyno. I am pretty sure it's just a clogged filter. My neighbor had the exact same problem on his Rusthang awhile back because he used teflon tape where he shouldn't have. I'll remove the solenoids tomorrow after work and find out where the problem is.

Who else has stock SE Auto. Do we have 14's posted for stock?

yes on maximaforum.com they had a guy get a 14.4 stock auto don't know if it was for real but thats what the banner said. I am a stock auto just appearance mods for me so far so me and you will make a run to see who gets the better time. i have never been to the track though and i might get the injen intake by then but thats just possibilities! i think if it's not blazing hot we will hit 14's no problem with a good launch

Have concerns about the oiled K&N on my MAF ( I'd hate to take my car to my dealer for MAF replacement). I'd will definitely run it though - intake or not. Took a Honda Accord V6 2-door yesterday (Car was loaded down coming back from a trip and running for 3 1/2 hrs). Surprised me how quick he was, though.

He's running 110-120+psi fuel pressure and he needs tuning.
I'm betting he's running EXTREMELY rich at that high PSI and that's hurting his HP number.

Do you feather off the launch and shift up manually (seems you can get about 800 - 1000 more RPM till redline that way) or just stomp and git. I've got a real problem with tire spin and have to feather (especially if I try taching up to 2500 prior to launch) Seems autos these days are pretty damned efficient at performance shifting but I try to weigh creating tranny problems versus quicker high RPM shifts).
hmmm....(warranty looking over my sholder)..

At the track i will shift both manually and leave it in drive and see what the difference is in times but street launch i leave it in 3rd and brake torque it from 2000rpm and get on it very light until about 3500 and then floor it and have no wheel hop just a bunch or torque steer but track conditions are a lot slicker i think i guess i will find out i wanna get in the 14's so bad stock

I have since tuned it a little.
I'm now running approx. 87 psi on the 100 shot.

BTW, I'm still waiting for your "How To" writeup.
What's next? 125-shot?
Any new dynos, 1/4-mile times, or kills?
