I'm with you Melteye....I think it comes down to this though, is it worth an extra $200 for adjustability? I'm leaning more and more towards no in my case as I'll likely not be doing anything more than spirited street driving and maybe, just maybe some light auto-x down the road. But auto-x is what I have the pocket rocket Escort for anyway so I'm leaning towards the $300 for lifetime Tokico Blues.

Options in descending order of cost:
1. KYB AGX and strut mounts modified by Cattman
2. KYB AGX and strut mounts modified by you or a friend
3. Tokico Blues in front, KYB AGX in rear
4. Tokico Blues

If you're hesitant to modify the front KYB AGX yourself, I suggest Option 3. You might like the adjustability for the rear, and it's not much more expensive than Option 4.

Do you or someone you know have a drill press, grinder, dremel, or other tool that can remove metal? A garage or small machine shop could do the modification and I doubt they'd charge much.

...I think its kinda funny that a few weeks ago all anyone could talk about is springs... Now it seems like a whole bunch of us just got springs, and now all everyone can talk about is struts! Ha! Thats kinda' funny...

Wouldn't the ride be weird if I had Toks in front and KYBs in back? Stiff Rear, Loose Front?

That's a long 2hrs and 30min...

Why would you want that setup? When you start try to get all tricky with your suspension you might have to worry about squeaks and shuddering and "did I do the right thing?"

Get all Toks $310 from Shox.com w/ Max.org discount. Many have attested to the great ride. Few have had probs, but you can't worry about it. If one blows, Tokico replaces under a LIFETIME warranty. These will be the last shocks/struts you will ever have to buy for your car (something which I am not sure I can say about Maxspeed springs).

Order 'em already!

I think probably not since you can adjust the rears to pretty closely match your front end stiffness or whatever tight/neutral/loose condition you're used to. The stock SE Tokicos are so much more stable than the rears that I've got to believe that Tokico blues, which should be higher damped for both compression and rebound (although the rebound increase should be a higher %age increase) would be more than solid enough for a street driven vehicle with standard, progressive, aftermarket springs. It's the rears I'm worried about so I'm going to request a quote from shox.com on front blues and rear AGXs from a 4th gen.
