Painting splash guards

Has anyone painted their splash guards with good results? I want to paint mine black to match the car but am leary of screwing it up. It seems easy to paint them but I don't want it to look like a bad paint job. Anyone with advice?

That's funny. I posted a similar thread when I wanted paint my black splash guards to match the silver. I got no responses then. I'm used to black now, but I did find paint for rubber, plastic, etc. I was not happy that there was no indication of whether the paint would "stretch" with the product or it would crack/peel. (It was the same stuff used to paint black bumpers - which does seem to peel after a few years.)

I asked this question to my bodyshop before...they said the plastic of the splash guard is not desinged to go with the car paint. it will peel soon or later.

Or.........

You can go to Courtesy Nissan's web page and buy painted mud guards from the factory.

Go to www.paintscratch.com and order paint specific to the code of your car. You can also specify the addition of a flexing agent that will let you paint plastic so that it doesn't peel off.

If you use good quality automotive grade paint and products, then painting of the splash guards will be just fine.

Check out House Of Kolor "Adhereto" at http://www.houseofkolor.com/hok/productset.html

BTW, House Of Kolor is very good stuff.

I ordered factory pre-painted splash guards because I did not feel it was cost justifyable to go through the trouble of painting versus plug-n-play. Of course, you could luck up and find factory painted splash guards at a junk yard.

Thanks for all the advice! I already bought the splash guard unpainted so I'll paint them eventually but they don't look bad as is since my max is black anyways.
