Neither. but if i had to choose between the two i would go with black. Gunmetal is the best IMO.

Sorry bro but neither. The only way to go on rims is Chrome. Anything else is gonna kill the car.

It all depends

on what look you're going for.
For sporty cars, go with gunmetal, white, black, bronze, etc...
For more lux look, go with chrome, silver, polished...
But on a Sterling Mist, I don't think either bronze will look good at all. I'd say go with the black...but consider gunmetal...IMO of course.

Well... they are straight!

Sorry, just a personal preference. I know chrome is popular, but I think it's overkill. No offense to chromies either, I think it's... a little low-rent. Ugh, I am gonna get killed for that. It's just that you can either see chrome on an $80k CLK or an $500 beater. And what cars do they come stock on? I can only think of American cars like Pontiacs, Chryslers, Cadies. You don't see them (stock) on BMW, Lexus, Porsche, etc.

Okay, I said it... I'm sorry, but someone had to.

Let me have it...

I actually like machined wheels with silver or black onyx (like the Konig Imagines). Those are SHARP!

Some people arent about the "bling bling". There's more to life than just "big pimpin" and "mad bling yo".

back on topic:

I think gunmetal, silver, polished, and bronze would look good on sterling mist. (in that order).

IMO, gunmetal is DEFINITELY your best bet... however black would look hot as well, but as NEWMAN said, not all black... check out this link... gunmetal with silver lip... 18x7.5 would probably be perfect... again--just an opinion.

WORD!
Gunmetal with a silver polished lip would look HOT on a sterling mist Maxima. I'd go with an 18 x 8 if possible.

I think Gunmetal and black looks like dirty sliver wheels. I like sliver, or sliver machined, chrome is okay but it can sometimes be a little to much. As you can see with all these different opinions, you should just get what you like.

Uhhhh, I think every Lexus I have seen lately has STOCK chrome wheels on it!!! Especially the GS400's and IS300's.

Yep...

gunmetal looks like brake dust covered or government fleet issue. Chrome can be ok if not overly ghetto-fied. Slimmer 'spokes' etc. can be set off SOMETIMES in chrome, but it truly depends on the design of the rim.

From www.lexus.com:
GS430

IS300

No chrome - maybe dealer add on if you saw them on the lot.

I have to agree with jjs. Chrome can be very nice if done in a tasteful manor. If they spin where the car is stopped that's a no-no . But if you get the right design just to highlight the good looks of the car it can be a winner.

so so, so wrong. please re-think what you just stated.

what is the car being prepped for: Show or Race?

this is how you will know what rims to go with.

I agree with Chung... Chrome is good on some cars, but not a Max. Sorry. Go polished silver, painted silver, or gunmetal... Some of those powder-coated charcoal Konig wheels are tight too. My personal favorite set on a 5th gen is 18x8 Mille Miglia Evo5... In silver. Ask anybody who has seen those mothers on a Max and they look like they were custom made for our cars!

Chrome has to be done in a tasteful matter or it ruins the car. Get a true two ot 3 piece wheel with either silver or gunmetal and a polished lip you won't regret it!! The miglia evo5 are a good choice they really match the Maxima. Here is a pick of my old Hyper black 5ZR Copse I have moved on to bigger and better things but these wheels were nice.

Rick is right about that, certain colors look good w/ gunmetal rims, Kev made a great choice for his car, but for a blue car, gunmetal may not be such a wise choice... You gotta imagine the wheels on YOUR car, not just the tirerack.com black backdrop...

exactly, when i get rims 4 my blue max, their gonna be 17" chrome, nothing else. now if it were like gold or silver, that different, or even white. has to be contrasting colors to look good.

I agree with you that chromes are the sh*t. But now we gotta talk about size...if you're gonna get rims, you should get them bigger than the stock ones...Come on now. IMHO +2 is usually the best visually, but 18's wouldn't be too bad if the rims don't have a lip.
