Opinions on these wheels for a 2K2 ..

Im in the market for 18's. I want to make sure I get something I will be happy with. I know most of you guys dont like Chrome, but its a MUST for me. Im a clean freak with my Max, so the Bling apllies to me. I like these wheels, and have a quote on a price for them. What do you guys think of them, and where can I get the best price , if you guys know ..?

Kloogy, I think something else would look better with your Max. Don't you have arctic white? I'm confused...I think rims with smaller spokes would look nicer, and classier. That's an opinion though, and hey, I don't have enough cash right now so I still have the stock rims, so I would take my opinion with a few boxes of salt :-). When's a SoCA meet around LA or OC? I would love to see your guys 5th gens in person!

Kloogy:

I love chrome rims...not on all cars, but the Max is just lux enough to pull it off. Just don't get ones that look like they should be on an old school Impala or an Escalade. You can always find rims you like, and get them chromed if they don't come in that finish.

You get those 18" boat anchors and you can kiss those performance gains fron the FC intake goodbye! I'd get something polished or bright silver paint. The rims look nice and everything but its alittle on the ghetto side IMHO. I would get the Millie's.

Those Concept Neepers are hot as hell! I would get them if I didn't have rims already. Let me know what you find Kloogy, I am in the market for rims about 10lbs to run slicks with for my front. But thats way down the line.

those rims are too ghetto bling for me.. the millie evos are sweet. my friend has them in 17's(not chrome) on his chipped jetta 1.8t and they look good on his car. i prefer a more sporty look, even though the max can pull off the luxury bling. i'm feelin some 18" SSR Competitions, but they're too d@mn expensive. i like the stock SE rims though.

To be frank, those are some of the worst looking wheels I have ever seen. I'm sure they are very heavy so there will be no way that you can hope to keep your car in the 14s with your current mods with those rims. If you like chrome, think about chroming your OEM wheels are buying the AE wheels.

Kloogy,

I'm buying rims this week so if you want anything from Racing Hart or RH Evo I'll hook it up phat for you. Only thing is that you have to be able to jump on it this week. Email me.

Thanks,
Bryan

I'm not feeling 'em Kloog. Chrome Evo 5's sounds nice. The main point is, if you like em buy em.

kloogy, my man, I think you would be better served with the previous choice of rim you had.

i love chrome and i have a 2k2 majestic blue max, and when i get 17's, they will be chrome. the maxima is already fast, of you slow it down the phat chrome rims, it just gives people more time to look at your tight ride. thats the way i look at it. who cares if you lose .2 to 0-60 its worth the nice look. but maybe get some other rims like katanas or lexanis.

Then why go with 17's don't you allready have 17's? go with 19's or dubs.

Kloggy seems to have the need for speed. Heavier rims will **** him off when he posts a 15 something quarter.

why do the frank intake and y pipe(when aval.) and then put on heavy a$$ neepers? Your gonna need a 100 shot of nos to get back to stock et's.

i dont care about speed, but 19's and 20's look way to big, if your goona put lexanis, make it tasteful, if you get like 7 thin spoke chrome, then maybe 18's. but this alters the speedo, etc, and especially the ride. i love how my stock se rides, and will not pay extra for bigger rims that make it ride worse.

Ride worse?

Slickrick, I will say if you set up the rest of the suspension right, the 19" rims will ride just as good as the stock wheels, I think mine ride even better in my opinion. But those big chrome rims would definitely be a little harder to counter-act than a good set of spoked ones.

you may be right. however. changing the suspension costs more, and a big thing is my book... voids the warranty. after 3 years i may put on some 19's but 4 now, all i need is 17s so i can keep the warranty.

if you're gonna sport the blingage, you gotta be able to back it up with the money to do it right. chrome wheels are pointless for show if theyre less than 18" imo.

I don't think they are that bad. We all have our own tastes obviously... chrome, non-chrome, light, heavy, spokes, no spokes... etc. But if you think they look good, I would get them. Once on your car, I think many people will say "I wouldn't get those wheels, but they look good" or something similair. Plus, you cant make everyone happy. There was a lot of people that said they didn't like my wheels and there are still people who don't like them, but once on the car... Fuhgedaboutit I have a hookup here in SD at Discount Tire. let me know when you want to go, and I will meet up with you...

well if their lexanis, 17" marqi rims will def. look hott. if you just want some flash and style, yet keep factory specs, go with 17", if you wanna lose some comfort and $, then go with 18's. and some people spent most of the $ buying the car, and cant afford 18's along with a system, exhaust, etc.

I agree, when i put on my 19s it rode just as good as stock. Of course it handles and brakes way better.

Sorry kloogy, I don't think those wheels look right on a Max. Its hard to tell from a pic though. But my first impression was that they reminded me of the cheap chrome hubcaps like you can buy at any auto parts store.

Its your car though, and your opinion really is the only one that matters on this one.

Have you thought about the 2002 GLE rims and chroming those? I know they are only 17's, but they look pretty sweet on my ride and I have them polished. I think they would look even better chromed.

That's a good idea...

the 17" SE rims wouldn't look too bad chromed/polished either.

After Rolling all over the floor reading your responses, Thanks for the feedback. I actually called and got a quote , and they will be about 4G's shipped, for 18X8's with 245/40's...... I'm not going to slap a 4G check on my car, and roll on it. Like I said before, I like the BLING of chrome. Many of you guys call that ghetto, I guess it all depends on where you live. Thanks for your "Humble" opinions.... Im still searching . Whatever I get, it will be chrome. ...... Thanks my Org- y Friends...

Ive got a deal for you......18 Inch Momo Quasar II's with full tread Nitto 555 for 1300.00 plus shipping. Check out Momo or Koenig Blatants for look. Wheels are less than eight months old and bright silver. One small ding on rear is the only damage and was touched up. Wheels sell for 500.00 each and 180-200 each tire new. If you live in South Florida you can pickup and save shipping. Trust me, this is the deal of a lifetime as rim shop already offered to buy them back at slightly less than selling price. Bought a Corvette and sold Anniversary Maxima so I have to let them go. Best handling option for a Maxima.......

Road noise depends on the brand/quality of tire. Ive got the t1-s and its soooooo quiet. I had pirelli p 7000ss previously on my 01 max and they were sooooooo noisy, crappiest tires i have ever owned, never buy them again.
