Yeah, I'm well aware of the arguments for sticking with stock size tires. However, I'd still love to see how some 235s look on stock 2000-2002 rims. A few different pics from different angles would make my day guys. Thanks so much in advance.

I went through 8 pages on this forum and I didn't find any pictures of 235s or even 245s. And for any new members here, I just want to go ahead and state that it is NOT RECOMMENDED to use these sizes of tires on stock Maxima rims. I simply wanted to see how they looked. Funny pic by the way. Are those really 235/45/17s? Thanks again guys and thanks for conducting yourselves maturely. I know that this is a topic that has been killed to death, but I at least wanted to see the pics. Laters

Hehe! True, very true. Steve, I really don't visit this site much but I have had it bookmarked for a year now. I've probably only made 6 or 7 posts in that time. At any rate, you seem to really be an authority on many Maxima issues. No need to be modest. Its true. I read an earlier post you made today and you mentioned that you will probably go with 235/50/17s. The load rating is fine and does seem to fit on our 17 inch wheels.
So now for my very last question on this topic. Have there been any complaints by 235/50/17 users with regards to their tires rubbing up against the fender or suspension equipment? If not, then that will be the size I'll go ahead and purchase. I honestly feel as though the 225s are just a tiny bit narrow in my opinion. They don't look bad but the 235s will look nicer. Just my .02 Thanks again guys.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has ever actually installed 235/50R17 tires on a 5th Gen Maxima. People have installed 245/45R17s and 225/55R17s with no bumping, grinding or bottoming out. But we've yet to see what will happen with 235/50R17s. Best guess is that they'll fit and function perfectly.
exunaja is currently sitting on a set of 235/50R17s and some of us . . . mostly me . . . are encouraging him to get them mounted. We'll see what happens. Here's the thread if you want to catch the blow-by-blow:

Hey Exunaja! I know you've had some 235/50/17s for a week now and read about your bad luck with your scratched rim. I hope everything turns out great with that issue. However, I'd really love to see a pic of how they look on your ride. Don't even bother cleaning them. I'm in need of tires real bad and would like to see how they look before I purchase tires in this size. Thanks.
