Who is right ???

Hey all, I know this is my 3rd thread in a week, sorry if your getting sick of me, this'll be it for a while.

I went to AutoZone looking for headlamp bulbs for my 2k1 maxima. The guy there says I need 9003 type bulbs. But Powerbulbs.com says I need 9004, who is right

Thanks

2k1 Maximas use a dual bulb known as the h4. I have two sets that are slightly used for sale and both are from PIAA. One is a cool Plasma Blue (purple coloring) and an Xtreme White (lgt blue). Both are 30.00 shipping included and I accept paypal to expidite mailing. Check out www.autobulbdepot.com for sizes and pricing and you will see that this is cheap and bulbs are the best this side of true HID. Give em a try.......I was hooked !!!! (Bought a Corvette or I still would have my Maxima and bulbs )

I want to go as white and bright as possible ... without going to the actual 2k2 HID headlamps ... too many people have been getting there HID's stolen around here. Thanks I will definitly check out the site. If not I just may take you up on those bulbs

You need an H4 for headlights. I do believe that they are crosslisted as an 9003? To be safe just ask for a H4. If you want bright white real HID is the only way to go. YOu can get a nice color from the fakie bulbs but their output is not so good. I used to run the fakies but switched back to normal "yellowish" halogen for their greater output.

the theives arent targeting 2000-2001 assemblies with 'hid-look-a-like' bulbs. theyre targeting the 2002 headlamps which look totally different from the 2000-2001. dont worry about people stealing your hid-knock-off bulbs.

I think he knows that...sounded like he was saying he wanted to get the whitest possible light (from bulbs) w/o having to actually get the 2K2 HID lights.

we use the 9003 type bulbs...the Sylvania Cool Blue bulbs are pretty good...and it's 100% street legal..if the cops in your area are a pain...

The Xtreme Whites are brighter than the factory bulbs and more focused on the road. From magazine ads, they were recently legalized in all states. Trust me, when I put the factorys back in to sell the car, it was most disappointing as they are yellow !

HID's are cool.....but $$$$$ and they are being stolen off all cars in Florida and insurance companies are starting to look at raising policies !

They already have. I live in Massachusetts, and right on the bottom of the insurance policy for my girlfriends 2k2 max. it says. Xenon/H.I.D headlamp surcharge, and its an extra 50 bucks a year just becuase you HAVE the lights. She's had her 2k2 lights stolen already! They got stolen less than a week after she got the car!

9003 and h4 are the same thing.
You need 9003.
9004 is for the 4th gen max
