frankencar midpipe

i just ordered the berk technology intake and have heard that the best combo with this is the frankencar midpipe...does anyone know the advantages of this? is there any hp gain or is it strictly just a better sound and a little better looking?...

I have only heard good things about the combo. And at 55 for the Berk and 55 for the Frankencar Midpipe, not a bad investment!

If you already have a complete Frankencar intake, there is no advantage in purchasing a Berk Tuning intake.

Strictly from the "BUTT" Dyno, my car felt like it came to life after 3500 RPM's, which it didnt while stock . I have the Frankencar Midpipe , with the Berk Intake. I might be switching to an Apexi filter soon though.

I as well have the Frankencar mid-pipe, along with the JWT pop charger. My car sounds and feels great! Installation only took me about an hour. I have also been thinking about the Apexi filter.

u got urs in already? anyway just a question u see with a reg intake like mine, i have the stillen filter with the velocity stack. that thing sound mean as hell until like 4000rpm then the intake roar just disapears and the engine just revs right to redline. but the thing ive heard about the fankencar midpipe is that it gives u that loud @$$ intake sound all the way til redline, is this true or no intake will make that mean sound on the max due to the variable lungs opening up around 4k, any1z comments?

It roars. When I put the windows down and turn the stereo off, it sounds so sweet. I find myself doing 80mph on side streets just to hear it roar. I haven't had my stereo on in days- seriosly. God Bless Frankencar.

yes i know it will roar, but will it roar to redline and get to a meaner roar the higher u rev, or will that roar just stop like mine does around 4k when the variable intake manifold opens up, and just rev? i want it to get meaner and roar lounder the higher i rev, u know what im talkin about.

Definately hp gain! It sounds awesome too! Think about it! It replaces the stock portion of the midpipe and that thing is ruffled and rubber which we all know will slows down the air and can be quite restrictive. By changing to a straight pipe (franken midpipe) the air has no restrictions and will flow smoothly into the intake manifold. The only down fall would be that the metal conducts heat more than rubber and that will lead to hotter air going into the intake manifold which we all know is bad.

The harder you push it, the louder it roars.

I'm wondering if there's a way to get this roar through the SC piping. I never got the roar from the Frankencar that 2K2's get, but it still sounded throaty on my 2K.

When you just order the Frankencar Midpipe do you get everything that needs to be included....i.e. the hose clamps, etc.

Also, I have searched, but is there anybody that has pictures and instructions for the installation of the midpipe? Any help would be great

The installation instructions which Steve sends with his intakes tends to be enough I'd say. It is pretty straight forward since you are pulling all the stock intake pieces before the throttle body out...there aren't too many ways you can screw it up. The key pieces of the instructions (to avoid throwing an error code) is to disconnect the battery before beginning and do not reconnect the battery until all parts, particularly the MAF adaptor, are reconnected.

I just ordered the Franken midpipe too. I just installed the Berk last weekend, and I also love low high pitched hiss (sounds like turbo) on low throttle acceleration, of course it goes away and roars once the RPMs go up. Probably from partially open throttle body valve... But it sounds awesome. I don't feel any low end loss either. But then it's all feel for now and ears.

Are you telling me that he GAINED hp by removing the intake and going back to the stock airbox? That is impossible.

I think he meant that he gained 10hp with FrankenCar intake compared to stock intake.
