First kill in 2K2!!

I put my on 500 miles of "break in" and just in time. Some kid (looked like Eminem) in a Silver RSX is blasting his $hitty stock radio and eyeing me at a light on the way home from work today. Light turns green and all I hear is his wheel spinning. I immediately hop on him just as he gets traction. He never got past my rear bumper I could hear him reving the $hit out of his VTEC but I think he had an auto, because I know that RSX has at least another 1500 RPMs to go when he shifted. We shut it down at 80. We get to the next light and I look over and he is just staring straight ahead no emotion and in the middle of nowhere bangs a right turn and flees the scene.

Probably was an S-Type! My bro's Automagic RSX doesn't spin the wheels from a stop... at least not like my Max. When we launch together, he always takes off first with hardly any spin, & I'm left behind spinning!... but then *ROAR* he can see my NiCe Nissan OEM altezzas! I think they don't spin cause of the restricive stock airbox. Because, once it gets the air moving, it will spin in 2nd gear too! And that's a damn 5spd automagic w/160HP. I haven't raced him to 80, but I'm sure I'd have more than a couple car lengths on his A$$... so it seems that you were running with a S-Type! Good run, man!

I smoked a RSX-type S one day about 2-3 months ago. This punk with his silver rocket smokes out from a light on me. I wasn't even paying attention, talking with my boy "the jolly green giant" (He is big). So I took off after him, he had at least two cars on me. Within 1/4 mile I had taken the lead and put one car on him. The whole time he was jammin gears and peekin over his shoulder, all he heard was the intake "roarin". I shut it down on the top of 3rd so that was about 80 or 90. I look back and think I was a dumbasss for racing him, but I still smoked him.

I also took a modded Celica GT-S one day. Same crap, dood just jumped out of no where and was screamin around me. I kept beating him, but didnt think he got a good launch so I would stop after 2nd and wait for him again, the he would jump again. Finally I just let him pass me then I hit it. Smoked past him within 100yrds. I ended up putting about 4-5 cars on him by the time we went another 100yrds.
Another stupid Race I shouldn't have been in, but sometimes I just cant help myself, it is like my "dope".

Just my 2 tales.

Audi Kill

About 3-4 months ago I was stopped at a light in central NJ. Some dude in a new A4 thought he was all hot next to me. I wasnt paying attention and had no desire to race but he jumped it from the light. I met up with him at the next light(one red after another). I decided he needed to learn. Light turned green and I romped it. I had to let off a little to get traction but still took him. Hit about 75-80 by the time I came up on the next light and he was at least 1-2 car lengths back.
I proved my point but he wasnt satisfied so he took off from that light and went flying again. It was a heavy cop zone so I laid back. I followed to the highway where I proceded to leave him way back. What a tool!!!
Dont mess with the MAX!!!

Kloogy you were from the area, ever race up 287? Nice and fun!!

It was about $45. To be honest there is very little difference. The main reason I put it in my cars is because it pays for itself. The K&N doesn't require any maintenence for 50K miles and lasts till 100K (supposedly). Normally in 100K miles you'd go through 10 to 15 normal paper filters at $15 a pop.

In my previous Y2K I didn't really notice the change in MPG, but you're talking to the wrong guy because my driving is really inconsistent. One day road trip, next day city miles. In my 2K2 I only have 500 miles so I am not tracking it yet.

I'd do it just for the long term savings...and if you can feel the extra 3HP then all the better.

There have been a lot of talk about blown MAF (mass air flow) sensors. This problem has mostly been happening with aftermarket intakes. A lot of these intake use the K&N cone filters. If you're talking the drop in replacement you'll have no such problems. I haven't had a problem in almost 3 years. Even if you do, you can easily swap it to the stock filter in like 10 seconds before having a dealer look at it.

I don't believe it was a Type-S. Those pull 14.8 stock. The guy probably had a 5spd manual Base RSX. With my cousins type-s we took out a GS-T 5speed by a good 4 cars. Unless you have a Maxima 6spd don't count on taking an RSX-S.

An RSX-S has 200HP and it is light. My neighbors brother has a lowered one with intake and exhaust and he took me two out of three races, the one race I won by maybe 2 feet. All three times he jumped me off the line. Now granted I have a 2K1 but I can drive, do not underestimate them, they are nice.

BTW NYC update your profile so we can see if you are an auto or stick.

Yeah, I have one of those......

I am let down by the RSX type-S. I had a Civic with GSR Swap head work and every mod you can do without going forced. I used to smoke GS-Ts with turbo work all day. My car was fast, took a few Type Rs too. I don't think they did the Type R justice by saying this car was to replace it...

The RSX I raced just had an intake from what I can tell. It was prolly slowing him down.

Yes it was... if you noticed, there are members here running 14.2 in the 1/4 BONE STOCK Automagic GLEs! That would explain his 1/2car difference, by the time he shut down. And we are talking 255HP 2k2s, not 2k1s. My brother's Automagic RSX can't even TRY to hang with me, even if I have my handbrake on!

So according to what you're saying, a 160HP RSX = 255HP Max in the quarter mile?...

If you even read my previous post I am saying that the 200hp RSX-S is faster than the Auto 255hp Maxima yet slower than the Maxima 6speed. By the way there has never been a Auto Maxima that ran a 14.2 1/4 Mile stock and nor will anyone ever run a 14.2 stock with a 2002 Auto. You might find out that the GLE that you are talking about is a Manual but I don't think they make the GLE with a 6speed.

Someone posted his 14.2 this on board, or 5thgenmaximas.com.... I can't remember. It was during the winter, so 14.2 is NOT out of the question (cooler airflow = faster times). And you're the one that said "I don't believe it was a Type-S.

So you're saying that a 255HP 2k2 BARELY outran a 155HP RSX?... What I'm saying id IT WAS A TYPE-S RSX... BECAUSE I HAVE BOTH A REGULAR RSX & A 2K2 AUTOMAGIC MAXIMA IN MY GARAGE... AND I'M NOT YELLING.... MY CAPSLOCK JUST FLEW OFF THE DAMN KEYBOARD... ahh... got it back on.

Not flaming, but unless you have an RSX-S, an RSX, and a 2k2 Max in your garage, your viewpoint has no logical basis. You lose, I win!
