So you're saying that a 255HP 2k2 BARELY outran a 155HP RSX?... What I'm saying id IT WAS A TYPE-S RSX... BECAUSE I HAVE BOTH A REGULAR RSX & A 2K2 AUTOMAGIC MAXIMA IN MY GARAGE... AND I'M NOT YELLING.... MY CAPSLOCK JUST FLEW OFF THE DAMN KEYBOARD... ahh... got it back on.

Not flaming, but unless you have an RSX-S, an RSX, and a 2k2 Max in your garage, your viewpoint has no logical basis. You lose, I win!

It doesn't matter if I have any of those cars in my garage. You can't race yourself unless you have taken all of the cars to the track. The base RSX with a 5 speed is a mid-15 second car and a 255hp maxima auto is a low 15's second car. That would mean that the maxima barely outran a Base RSX. Now the RSX-S is a high 14 second car to low 15's car. Now I am not saying that you did not race a Type-s i just said I did not believe it was one because you wouldn't have beaten him unless he did not launch his car off the line or was not flooring his car. By the way you don't have an RSX-S in your garage so you contradicited your own statement!

How can you tell

Besides the emblem, is there any exterior styling differences on the Type S??

only way...

to distinguish type-s model from regular is the type-s emblem....
cause there are only 2 trims of the rsx.

Actually there are 2 other ways to determine Type-s from non-s and that is the muffler is different and the body side molding is the same color as the car instead of black trim like the non-s.

Okay, while I think that your original statements were misunderstood and you have clarified well...a stock 2K2 auto is probably capable of running an RSX-S. 14.8-15.2 is the range a stock 2001 5-speed runs (probably closer to the 15.2 side) and I think that's a reasonable time for the 2K2 Auto given that we've seen stock 6-speeds run 14.2-14.4. Manually shifting the auto, of course. Given that and the fact that just because the other drive owned an RSX-S, doesn't mean he knew how to drive it, so it is VERY possible that our friend the 2K2 Auto driver blew him off the track.

I thought the type-S had different wheels too???

One good way when you race him is the standard V-TEC sound from the motor. If you hear it then it is an S, if it just sounds like a lawnmower then it is not an S. Honda 101.

Yes, I agree with your statement that if the RSX-S driver could not drive then a 2k2 Auto Max could take him. Im glad that you understand my previous statement. To dblrr900 the type-s and non-s share the same wheels.

looking at what both cars are running at the track an rsx-s can still get taken even if the driver was good. auto 2k2's are running 14.4 to 15.00's most being mid to high 14's

Most 2002 Auto Maxima's do not run in the 14's. Most run in the low 15's. There are some high 14's but that does not happen often. The 14.4 if it really did happen is a freak time at a good track in great weather conditions. 14.4 is more like a 6speed maxima time.

ok then most rsx-s don't run in the 14's either , as you stated before if the acura is a high 14 low 15 sec car and it's proven that the 2k2 autos can and do run high 14's low 15's so how can you claim only a bad driver in a rsx-s would get beat by an auto max

Really?... most 2k2s (that day) ran 14s when Kloogy & the crew hit the HOT California track... Tell him Kloog! And they didn't have to remove the spare tire & the stupid woofer, that Bose decided to stick in the donut. Oh, yeah... we have the woofer in the deck (but it still sux)

I dont have to prove Jack **** to anyone ! You are right GLE ! I ran a 14.8, and I can run lower, when I go back in Sept, or Oct, when we have coool weather. So Cal is not known for Cool Summers.... ....Full Interior , Tools and Navi, with 2 12 inch subs === 14.8 !!!

The sub-woofer in the rsx can't weigh more than 5 lbs. The spare tire weighs 30lbs. 35lbs isn't going to make the difference in the world. California is known for fast times because of its cool weather and low elevation. If i ran a 14.96@93.1mph at sears point raceway in my Accord V6 with I/H/E Centerline 18's and plugs then I have no doubt your 2002 Max auto and RSX-S could hit high 14's all day long. If you race at a track outside of california those stats would not be the case. Low-15's would be more accurate.

so automatic 2k2 maximas don't run high 14's low 15's outside california now

Dude, I was joking about the woofer

But, I live on the East cost & the weather here is not as HOT as in Cali most of the year... therefore the track times here are usually lower than in Cali. Especially from October - May...

And as far as elevation is concerend, Atco raceway in NJ is very close to sea level. Englishtown is also at the same level. Most people like to post their best ET, which was probably obtained at a low-temp & low-altidude. Kloogy's 14.8 is VERY GOOD for an auto sedan in the blistering heat! When he get's a chance to run with better track conditions, he will post his best ET in his sig... see how this works?

First track run =/= best run

Anywayz... this subject sux. ACURAS ROCK!!!

** I'm gonna go PlSS on my bro's RSX now! **
