are these really that fast? my friend just got one (97 or 98 i think...whatever year they stopped making them)...he claims it goes 0-60 in 6.2 seconds...that sounded a little quick for a jeep grand cherokee...i'll still race him though. he thinks i will win but if his car is really that fast, it will be close

i don't understand you people that ask if you should race a car before actually racing it...in this post i just want to know if he was telling the truth...you should race for yourselves and if you lose, oh well, that just makes you want to put more stuff in your car...and if you win...good for you...but you should find out for yourself rather than asking if you could take him and if not, then you don't race him...a race is a race. if you race a geo metro w/ a 90" exhaust tip or some $hit and you win it would be of no surprise...i doubt the guy in the geo is thinking his car can beat ours but he raced anyways because it's fun

but not that fast. More like 6.8 with an auto. If you have a 5sp VQ it should be even. If you have mods and can drive you should beat him.

but after that the size and weight of the Jeep will slow him down. Your Max will fly by him after that.....

even 6.8 w/ an auto i should be able to beat...i've beat plenty of cars faster than that (just look at the races section on my page)

Hey, I one of those people that ask about a car before I race it-not so I can back down but just want to know what I'm getting in to.I still race them I race any car what have I got to lose(maybe a little gas)

my bro's '98 max se beat one...but he's good with the 5 spd. i guess if you're a good driver it'll be easy. (we beat the guy by like 3 car lengths by 80 km/h.)
