Engine cleaning question.......
DOes anyone have any good tips for cleaning engine bays, such as what to use, and how to do it. I would really like to get this done, but i want to do it myself. Are there any instructions on the proper way to do this?

There is an entire forum for this under http://www.autopia-carport.com
look under detailing, think it's in there.

Mike, I read a post on the forum where someone used Simple Green so I tried it. It worked great. I sprayed the Simple Green Concentrate (found at Advance Auto about $4.00 for 40 ounces) on a cold engine,
firewall, radiator, essentially everything under the hood including the under side of the hood and let it dissolve the dirt and grease for about 15 minutes. Hosed it off using a light high pressure water stream and the results were awesome. It even has a rather pleasant smell to it, not like Gunk which smells awful. Another plus is that Simple Green is biodegradable, I cleaned the engine at home and flushed everything into the grass! I was extremely careful not to get the Simple Green on any painted finish that is waxed, I believe it would take the wax right off. I then started car and took it for a 10 minute drive to dry off the engine. It was the easiest engine cleaning I've ever done.
Be well!!!!
