Anniversary Ed. Door Sills

I just got my sills in and I want to put them on. Do the old ones just pull out or do I need to use a screw driver ?

A flathead screwdriver would help to get you started. Be gentle, it comes out real easy.

a flathead screwdriver is fine.

*pop* *pop* to get it off and *pop* *pop* to get the new ones in.

I just slipped my skinny little hands under as close as I could to the clip and snapped it off. Didn't break one! I was thinking about a screwdriver or something but I didn't want to scratch the paint even though it would be covered.

Yea i didn't use screwdriver either, but if you do, i suggest wrapping the tip in cloth to avoid scratches on the paint. But just prying with your hands should be enough to remove the old ones.

Indiglo Doorsills

Has anyone installed the MAXIMA indiglo doorsills? I got them on ebay a LOONG time ago, they look just like the AE doorsills except they light up when the door is open. I really like them and they probably cost alot less than the AE ones too.

Don't use a screwdriver, just pop em up with your hands. Start at the ends, they dont break and if they do so what? You're not keeping em anyways. DO NOT use a screwdriver. Maxima Paint + Screwdriver (even one wrapped) = bad news.

I agree. Once you can fit a finger under there, just slowly put pressure underneath as you move towards the attached end. They just pop off really easily. Oh, and clean underneath there....man that gets nasty underneath.

How much were they? And do they say Maxima, and does that light up?
I'd be interested in that, if they were chrome, and had Maxima sign lit up.

That is a damn good price, but if the lit up ones are only $10 more, I'd get the ones that light up.

I haven't seen them on ebay in a while and to my surprise, not many people have them...Soo if you can find them, i would recommend those over AE for 10 bucks more

I too have seen the indiglo MAXIMA door stills
I have a question to those that have it
is it only the front ones that light up
because in the pictures that I have seen it looks as if the back doesn't light up

Hey on www.nissan-accessories.com, they also carry some 350Z door sill plates. I wonder if those would fit on the Max?

And for the AE sills, is it a set for all 4 doors, or only the front 2?

I have the indiglos installed. If anyone wants pics, email or pm me and I'll send them to you. Installation wasn't bad at all, and if anyone needs pointers I can help with those as well. The back ones dont light up because there are no rear door lights to wire them to, plus theres no wires connected to the indiglo part of it. It looks real good though. I get compliments all the time.

I really love my Indiglo Sills. I got mine installed last week. The only place that the sills are available is online.. if you want i can give you the guys email address that sells them on Ebay.. I think he makes them himself or something. Do a Search I started a HUGE thread on Indiglo sills sometime last week. The thread is like 4 or 5 pages long. I'm still looking for my memory card from my camera, so i can take some pics. I get compliments on the coolness of my indiglo allll the time. People always ask if it came with the car, cuz it looks soo clean and factory. I got my indiglo's installed professionally.. and it's the cleanest install EVER. only took them about 30 minutes too!

-Ryan

p.s. When will I NOT be a NEWBIE anymore! I've been a member since Sept 11, 2000 !!! (ironic date i know..)
